Christmas shopping for the weekend

Posted Dec 15, 2014
Pros: Food in the Palmetto Cafe, staff of hotel excluding the housekeeping staff.
Cons: Housekeeping and condition of rooms
Checked in Thursday evening and met some friends out for dinner. We returned to our room after dinner to find that the "turn down service" left our door open. The only service that "turn down" provided was fresh towels. I called and expressed my concern due to the fact that we had valuables in the room. They offered to move us to a different room which I thought was comical due to the fact that our room location wouldn't change the lack of care from the housekeeping staff. Friday morning, room service breakfast was delicious. Friday evening came and we returned after dinner and "turn down service" didn't even happen! I had to call again and fresh towels and bottled waters were sent to the room. Lunch on Saturday at the Palmetto Cafe downstairs was awesome. Our waitress was fabulous. Went out to dinner on Saturday and guess what... NOPE, no turn down service for the third night in a row. Again, fresh towels and waters were sent up. I called, almost laughing at the sorry service of the housekeeping staff and the front desk did offer us brunch on Sunday morning at the Palmetto Cafe. We accepted. The only thing going for this hotel is the staff (front desk, valet, and wait staff) and the food. Housekeeping, room conditions are horrible.

Wonderful staff and location.

Pros: It is in the middle of all the local activities. If you need a ride to something, there are drivers. Just ask at the Bell desk.
We have been to Charleston many times and this was not our first experience with Charleston Place, not will it be our last. The hotel is beautifully decorated for the holidays and everyone is so friendly! The indoor swimming pool is a terrific experience too.

This is a luxury hotel!

Posted Dec 7, 2014
Pros: It has a lot of character. Everything about it is tastefully decorated. The hotel staff lives up to its high standards in everyway.
Cons: I can not think of anything.
Location: Our time was very limited. We were only able to drive down Meeting Place to see the park.
We were exceedingly pleased with our stay at this hotel. The staff was very gracious, friendly and helpful. The hotel is quite beautiful. The room was very, very clean and comfortable.

Great hotel for a honeymoon.

Location: The center of Old Charleston activities and restaurants.
When we arrived, congratulations were offered and little extras provided. Service and quality of food were 5 Star +. Presentation was outstanding and photo worthy throughout all meals enjoyed in hotel restaurants. Every staff member went out of their way to make our stay memorable.

NIce hotel close to shopping and dining

Posted Nov 25, 2014
Pros: The convenience to shopping, dining and the heart of the city.
Cons: The comfort of the rooms and the overall quality of the experience for the guests.
The room was extremely noisy on the club level. The guests, many of whom had children, were loud and boisterous. No attempt was made to quiet these families and their children. In addition, the continental breakfast that was included on the club level was extremely crowded and there was very little seating to enjoy the meal. The cost of the room with the meals included seemed like a waste. There were guests and the re children sitting on the floor outside of my room that looked more like a hostel than a luxury hotel.

Great, centrally located, lively ground floor. Gym is a bit small
