Great place to stay.Posted Jul 27, 2015
Cons: Perhaps more shading available in the pool area.
Location: It is in the heart of historic Charleston and within walking distance of many of the historic sites, bars and restaurants.
Our room was wonderful. The Charleston Grill is a restaurant you must eat at. The other restaurant and bar are really nice too!.

Great room and locationPosted Jul 27, 2015
Pros: I liked the location, the room and the staff.
Cons: Gym was small, few machines and very hot( 87 F). Pool was not spa pool as advertised (very hot open air room/ bar tender blasted 1950s rock & roll).
Location: Great downtown location. Easy to walk to sights, restaurants, waterfront. Convenient parking. Safe and busy area.
We stayed at hotel for four nights in July. Location is across the street from City Market. Parking in the adjacent garage is very convenient and reasonably priced ($16 per day). The check in was quick and efficient. The lobby is beautiful as was the recently renovated room. Very quiet in the room and the beds were extremely luxurious. Best hotel bathroom I have ever seen. Well thought out touches like automatic night under the sink, huge walk in shower with rain head and continual ( quiet) exhaust fan. The AC in the room was teriffic and the thermostat worked well. Very comfortable beds. The staff was overall really great. We go to bed early ( about 9 PM) so we missed turn down service the first night. They adjusted their schedule and provided turn down early the following evenings. One negative: There is renovation / construction going on on the rooftop deck outside the pool. This affected the AC in the very small gym which is in the same area, off the pool. It was very hot in there. The first time I used it was 2 PM and the themostat read 87 degrees F. The second time was 6 AM. While better it was still 76 degrees F. This is far too hot for a gym. I let the hotel staff (spa and front desk) know. They assured me they would have it repaired but did not ( at least not during my stay). The hotel pool is salt water instead of chlorine. I find salt water much more pleasant so I enjoyed that. Overall a great hotel and really enjoyed my stay there.

Nice hotel - excellent location.Posted Jul 25, 2015
Pros: Hotel staff very accommodating. Very clean.
Cons: Our shower would go on by itself. Would of loved a coffee maker in our room. However- we greatly appreciated the newspapers.
Location: Location is excellent. Can walk to many of the major tourist stops: slave market, historical homes, excellent restaurants and shopping.
Had lunch in the restaurant. Extremely over priced. Too many good restaurants nearby to pay those prices.

Elegant hotel close to most thingsPosted Jul 24, 2015
Pros: Locations, décor and friendliness of the staff. Very nice hotel.
Cons: add cots/cribs, breakfast was good but overpriced
Location: historic walking tours available (talk to the great concierge), great shopping on King Street (lovely antique stores) and also close to markets
The hotel was well located and had wonderfully well appointed and decorated rooms. The amenities in general were also very good. The staff were friendly and efficient with great concierge. Most surprising thing was that for such a large and well appointed hotel they did not have any cribs or cots available

Beautiful hotel- great experiencePosted Jul 14, 2015
Pros: The comfort, staff assistance, food
Cons: We were pleased with everything.
Location: Boutique shopping, restaurants, a mar
We recently returned from spending 2 nights at the Belmond Charleston on a club floor. Our experience was extraordinary. The room was clean, included turn down service and our room was cleaned, our ice bucket filled for us, and fresh towels were provided in the evening, when needed. As a club member we enjoyed free continental breakfast, with several delicious hot offerings, free champagne and wine from late morning on, free cocktails and tea sandwiches and appetizers, and late night desserts. The lobby is beautiful and the club floor dining area is very comfortable. There is a salt water pool, but it seems lightly salted and was very pleasant to swim in. The hotel is located near to a marketplace and several boutique shops. It is in a very walkable area. Everything about our stay was perfect, and we definitely plan to return here in the future.

Comfort and Elegance CombinedPosted Jul 12, 2015
Location: Perfect location to great shopping and restaurants!
We celebrated out twentieth wedding anniversary here. The hotel is elegant. The bed was very comfortable. We especially enjoyed the pool facilities...water felt wonderful with minerals and salt. Great stay!
