Girls' weekend in Charleston

Posted Nov 5, 2014
Pros: Location was perfect, spa, room size, cleanliness, hotel bar
Cons: The concierges were NOT knowledgable nor helpful. Google and talking to people at shops/restaurants were MUCH more effective and helpful.
Location: The Battery, shopping, bars/restaurants, walking tours
I went to Charleston for a long weekend with my mom and sister. Overall, we loved our hotel experience! It was right in the heart of downtown, so easy to walk anywhere. The hotel bar was a fun place to grab a drink before/after dinner. We also spent time in the spa/fitness center, which we really enjoyed!

Pros: Close to everything
Cons: For the price you pay for a room, more things should be included. A small thing like a cup of coffee was extra. Valet parking price was high.
Nice hotel and staff was great but there was a charge for things that hotels of this caliber usually include. Example: to get a cup of coffee, I had to go down to the lobby and pay extra. We could have gotten coffee from room service but the prices were high. Valet parking price was high.

The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were fantastic and elegant. Our shower head made a little noise but that was the only issue.

Excellent service in a fantastic location in the historic district of Charleston. Everything is within walking distance. Fabulous 4 diamond restaurant "The Charlston Grill" right in the hotel.

You don't always get what you pay for

Posted Oct 21, 2014
Pros: the location is ideal; there were a lot of services and staff were polite and welcoming.
Cons: Housekeeping need to be retrained and/or supervised, furniture cleaned and increase the wattage of all light-bulbs, so you can read in bed.
Location: Lots of options for food, shopping, ammenities, transportation.
Unsanitary bedroom, dirty room furniture, every light-bulb, didn't allow enough wattate to read in bed, at a desk or in the room -- unless it was daylight and the curtains were open wide. The management got involved and relocated us and "comped" the first night.
