Best Hotel in Charleston

Posted May 9, 2015
Although this was our first time staying in the city of Charleston, it was by far an excellent visit!! We absolutely loved the hotel and the staff went above and beyond excellence!! It is a little pricey, but well worth the cost for the location, cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, and all of the amenities offered!! There isn't a single negative thing we could say about our stay at the The Belmond Charleston Place!! We are already looking forward to a return visit very, very soon!! We LOVED it there!!

Girls weekend. Concierge level was wonderful. Service wonderful. Room very nice although we got a look at some of the renovated rooms and they were beautiful.

Great location, great hotel

Posted Apr 10, 2015
Pros: We loved the pool, the shops downstairs and our dinner at the Charleston Grill was a highlight of our trip. We loved the pool too.
Cons: The bathroom was beautiful but we the tub was hard to navigate for kids and the bathtub glass door, though beautiful, closes easily on hands.
Location: The hotel is very close to the market area, home to historical sights galore and many of the area's best restaurants and waterfront park/promenade.
We had an amazing time in Charleston. Charleston Place is in a great location near the market section, waterfront and much of the historical district. Our room was lovely with fine furnishings and we were happy to have a refrigerator. The lobby was beautiful but I wish there was more places to sit in the lobby and enjoy the atmosphere. The few seats that are in the lobby are always taken and my daughters and I would have enjoyed the opportunity to sit in the lobby, listen to the music from the Thoroughbred club and people watch. My kids greatly enjoyed the hotel pool and outside deck and dining poolside was wonderful. Overall we found the hotel wonderful and thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Charleston. I'd say the hotel was very kid/family friendly.
