“Great Hotel. Very friendly front desk !!”
Hotel is under major construction. It is nice now but when they finish all of the upgrades and the construction is over, it will be very very nice.
“Not Impressed- Start to Finish”
Buyer beware: When I stayed in July 2011 the hotel was under major construction and not in a very appealing part of town, literally a huge crane parked out front and black plastic on exits to the outside. We tried to book another hotel and the area was full due to a basebase event in town. Staff member a reception rolled her eyes while she was on a phone call giving directions. She seemed annoyed during our entire transaction. Went to room but then had to come down and switch our 4th floor room because the hotel allows dogs and the one next door to us was barking and the general cigarette smoke mustiness in the air was not appropriate. Went to first floor room and threw away 3 pistachio shells from the side of the bed. Don't know why we did it but we were tired and went to the hotel restaurant for dinner. The staff were reading magazines and chatting amongst themselves, finishing their conversations before greeting us. The sirloin I ordered tasted like the meat had turned, I did not eat this. The green beans where grayish-green and tasted like reheated mush as did the rice. Even spinach dip was weird and had cheddar cheese on it. I was stunned that someone could mess up spinach dip. We had no where else to go, believe me we tried. The best I can say about the stay is that I was still alive the next morning and it was located between Roanoke, VA and Louisville, KY. This hotel has scared me off of staying at a Ramada, period.
“A decent hotel in transition”
Arrived to find we were booked in a (very) smoking room, had to go back and forth before we were offered the suite for a modest up charge. Overall the staff was courteous but be advised the hotel is under fairly extensive renovations so staying more than one night or during the week could be a hassle. The neighborhood is mediocre at best, don't venture out to the 7-11 after dark, some fairly sketchy people walking around. There is a bar/comedy club in the hotel but we didn't check it out, appeared to be closed. Overall I would say the 20-30 yr old crowd would be best suited staying here, if you don't like to party and are looking for a quiet night's sleep you should probably look elsewhere.
“No Wedding”
The hotel was under construction, the internet did no work properly in the business center and the cable went out one night of our stay. Overall, the hotel personel was very helpful, friendly and accomodating. The room was nice, clean and comfortable.
“Unhappy Camper”
This hotel was rated as a 3 1/2. We would give it a 2 - 21/2. Although the room appeared surface clean, the carpeting in the room was stained and even the bed blankets were spotted and stained (we were hoping they were actually clean but stained.) Very disappointed!
“Wouldn't force anyone to stay at this hotel !”
Dirtiest hotel I have stayed at in 35 years of extensive business and personal travel. Hotel is located in a bad part of town near chemical plants with an active railroad track behind the hotel. This hotel was terribly mis-represented in the advertisements !
“Decent Ramada”
only stayed 1 night got there at 5:00 to be informed our 2 double beds were not available but 1 king was. which was fine as we are a married couple and the king size bed originally was more $ to book. check in staff was nice and when we asked for a certain type of place to eat they were good with suggestions and directions. we did not eat here except for the complimentary breakfast which was yummy! Eggs, sausage,, waffles, fruit, juice, coffee, cereal. we did go to the comedy club which was decent $10 pp and a 2 comediens and a 2 hour show.. cocktail service was good. the pool and hottub looked very nice though we did not have the time to use either. 1 complaint is that the drain inthe tub in our room did not hold water!
“great stay”
Great stay!
“Did not get the room with two beds as requested.”
We were given a room with one bed and the hotel provided a roll-away. We had ordered 2 double beds. I was traveling with my adult son and we did not want to sleep in the same bed.
“update”
someone had posted a review that this hotel was a dump, HOWEVER, the hotel has been remodeled and the comedy club and bar at the hotel is nice.
