Nice pool, nice lounge, room meh!

Pros: The staff, concierge and wait staff were great. All helpful and friendly.the outdoor seating was a very nice feature.
Cons: All the above negatives could be improved.
Location: Charleston is a beautiful city but I don't think there is much around the hotels except for more of the same.
The hotel is not really situated within walking distance. A mile and half when it's in the 90's is not realistic. The lobby and outdoor seating is very nice, they should kill the very bad piped in music. The room is spacious enough but the cold tap water ran warm in the bathroom. Gee, Marriott how about a complimentary bottle of water, the bathroom was ok, beat up a little. The bed is another story. One sheet had a hole and the other a large rip, really? All eight pillows had a sour, stale smell, I don't know what that was about. The hallway also had a distinct, unpleasant odor. These are not conditions that I would expect from the Marriott.

Here for a wedding

Pros: Modern, clean and all amenities were there.
Cons: Make the shuttle free to the downtown area instead of $6 a day per person.
Location: Restaurants, historic district and tours all close by.
Staff was very accommodating and shuttle was greatly appreciated as we didn't rent a car. 5 minute drop off to the historic district and got picked up where we got dropped off and shuttle ran every 1/2 hour. Made our stay a pleasant one.

They charge for everything

Pros: Was clean...............
Cons: Stop charging for every little thing......
Location: Nothing really "nearby"....must take a tour or a cab EXPENSIVE! or take the free public transportation which is noisy dirty disgusting obsolete buses
Breakfast not included like some less costly places....breakfast in the hotel restaurant was EXPENSIVE! CHARGED six bucks per person per day to take the hotel shuttle. Drops you off not at your destination and requires you to be at that place at certain times.....other hotels will take you to town or wherever your destination is at NO CHARGE but request a tip for the driver for pick up......shuttle was a late model vehicle......was not running with A/C on before passengers boarded.....HOT clammy ride to downtown.....want off at a specific place? TOUGH......hotel staff okay but do not go out of their way to give superior service.......

We appreciate your candid feedback and I am sorry to learn that you were not happy with our pricing much but we price ourselves below the other hotels in Historic District because we are 1.5 miles outside the district. Additionally, we also do not charge for parking like most of the Hotels do. Very comfortable & pretty hotel

Pros: everything.
Cons: one elevators was a little wonky but i never had trouble getting a ride since there were three of them
Location: not downtown but very near town. the shuttles were a huge help in getting around, and the shuttle drivers were also very helpful in lending suggestion
modern touches like USB chargers so often ignored at other hotels, comfortable chairs and bedding, beautiful lounge areas indoors and out, very clean hotel.

Nice hotel, very friendly staff.

Pros: The concierge, Sherri, was amazing. She really made our stay a success. The shuttle drivers were also very helpful and courteous.
Cons: The bathroom was small and needed work - there were mold stains in the shower.
Location: Location could have been closer to the historic district, but the hotel shuttle made getting there easy.
Charleston is a beautiful city with lots of fun and unique things to do. We really enjoyed our stay.

Great hotel that is a short distance from downtown

My two adults daughters and I stayed at the Charleston Marriott for a long weekend. The hotel was great. All of the staff was friendly and very accommodating. The hotel is located just 15 minutes from downtown. We took advantage of the hotel shuttle to downtown. Six bucks for the day it's a great deal as downtown parking is a nightmare. I would definitely stay here again.

Location: See experience.
Booked this hotel to be on the CHARTA route. Just a few minutes walk to bus stop. Avoided having to drive in town. Bonus was the hotel's price,amenities and staff. Housekeeping staff were friendly , professional.

Great service and wonderful staff. The shuttles into downtown were great and made you at ease about having to find and pay for parking. Rooms were, as always at Marriott, very clean and freshly supplied daily.
