Gorgeous hotel in a charming city
Posted Jan 12, 2013
Pros: Staff, comfort, the bar downstairs, the central location.
Cons: Pillows
Location: Perfect location. Historical tours, shopping, amazing restaurants.
We had a wonderful stay at The Charleston Place. The staff was helpful and amazing. Our room didn't have the best view but that didn't matter a whole lot to us. One thing that was odd was that our room did not get turn down service on the final night of our stay or clean towels. I'm sure if we asked it would have been taken care of though. Overall, a wonderful hotel! We would definitely stay there again on a return trip!

Pros: Service!
Cons: Bar staff gets huffy around 11:30 pm. Instead of the gruff faces they should just begin letting patrons know last call is approaching
Location: Shopping dining its all here!
Stayed here when visiting pur dsughter who was dancing in spoleto.

best place to stay if you want a nice pool.
Posted Jan 4, 2013
Rooftop pool with glass cover that opens was wonderful. Palmetto Cafe on first floor had great french press coffee. They give you a large pot for $7, plenty for two and even have an organic option. Room was very comfortable and generous marble bath. Pillows were nice and fluffy, but we would have preferred thinner ones. Coffee/snack station on first floor great to grab a quick coffee/yogurt/muffin. Great shopping in lobby. Close to all charleston venues. Concierge very organized with printed directions to everywhere you want to go. We liked that we could park our own car (valet available) for $14/day with in and out privileges. Many great restaurants close by and many were very reasonable. I have never seen so many restaurants in a small town in my life! Great place to stay!

Wonderful hotel in fantastic location
Posted Jan 28, 2013
Pros: The location and the great shopping nearby.
Location: Fantastic. Right in the heart of downtown Charleston.
We traveled to Charleston with our two young kids, three and five, and chose Charleston Place as our hotel based on last minute availability. We were pleasantly surprised with what a beautiful hotel and how perfectly located it was to explore all of downtown. We walked everywhere easily from our home base of the hotel and appreciated that several fantastic 4 and 5 star restaurants were very close by and in some cases, located at the actual hotel. The kids swam in the rooftop pool each day and had a great time with the noodles and kick boards the staff provided. The pool bar was a pleasant surprise for the adults to pass the time as the kids played. The rooms were clean and the staff was very attentive. The only slight drawback was the appearance of being geared toward conventions and weddings. There was signage around directing people that took away from the ambiance, but that it minor and only being nitpicking. We also spent one day at Folly beach which was about a 25-30min drive from the hotel. It was a fun little beach town with wide open beaches, relaxed bars, and seafood spots to grab lunch.

Blind had a large visible tear, roughly repaired, door pulls were loose, cabinet door would not stay closed, if this were 75 bucks a night so be it, at 450 a night I expected better

Very nice hotel
Posted Jan 6, 2013
Pros: The staff is extremely courteous and helpful. Every single employee greeted us by name and went out of his/her way to offer assistance.
Cons: A small refrigerator would be a welcomed addition and the cleaning staff was somewhat inattentive to our carpet and floors.
Location: Great central location within easy walking distance to most attractions.
Great experience -- wish I could have stayed longer.
