Hotel was under construction during our visitPosted Mar 3, 2014
We were placed in a room directly by the construction on the same floor. It was noisy and dusty. We were not informed prior to our visit that it was under renovation. The noise continued throughout the day even on the weekends. Unfortunately this really made this a bad experience for us as we were not accommodated in any way for the inconveniences.

Great. The hotel was very pleasant and the staffTPosted Feb 24, 2014
Pros: Proximity to downtown Charleston restaurants and clubs. Spouse enjoyed the shopping experience of downtown.
Cons: We would have rather had a King size bed instead of two doubles. None were available when booking.
Location: Charleston Aquarium, Museum, The Battery, Fort Sumter, Market Street Old Market Place, plenty of fine dining such as Magnolia's, Amen Street Cafe, etc
The hotel was located downtown which gave us access to walk to the Battery, sight see, shop, and enjoy the food and drink of the famous downtown of Charleston.

Elegant hotel that is close to allPosted Feb 16, 2014
The location was fantastic. We were able to walk everywhere from the hotel. The staff was so friendly and accommodating. The room was pretty. The bathroom looked as if it had just been redone. The pool and health club were also great.

Too expensive for what it isPosted Jan 13, 2014
Killer location - but not worth the added expense vs other charming hotels in neighborhood. The hotel is too impressed by its spa ...the pool is excellent but the gym is small and the locker rooms remarkably un-impressive. The staff is well meaning but young and inexperienced The food is comparable to other area restaurants but far more expensive.

Great Hotel in the middle of CharlestonPosted Jan 7, 2014
Pros: Service did not lapse once and the accomodations were perfect. The room was comfortable and spacious- decorated tastefully. Loved the spa!
Location: King Street is right outside. We ate at FIG and McGrady's which were within walking distance, as well as toured the Old Exchange and Russel House.
My adult daughter and I visited my aunt and enjoyed the city from our base at the Charleston Place. I stayed last time in 2005. The restaurant had been updated beautifully. The hotel was perfect for our needs. We used the spa and enjoyed the city from the excellent accomodations. The service was helpful and friendly! Everything was perfect and I hope to return sooner than later. It is very convenient to restaurants, and historical points of interest. I love charleston and I love this hotel!

EXQUISITEPosted Jan 2, 2014
After a marvelous stay back in February, I decided to treat my mom for a getaway in Charleston at the only place I knew would treat us like royalty. The VIP level rooms is a step up, with an open bar and Hors d'oeuvres served throughout the day. Service is impeccable. Dinner at the Charleston Grille was, again, superb. The amazing Jazz band helped set up that grand vibe in a restaurant where many politicians and famous people dine. But the cherry on top of her Sundae was a birthday cake and a bottle of Prosecco delivered to our room for my mother's birthday. She absolutely loved it!! This is THE spot to stay for those who enjoy the finer things in life. Can't wait to go back.

Wonderful location, outstanding facilitiesPosted Jan 1, 2014
Pros: Everything but particularly the Club Level experience
Cons: Nothing. Don't change anything
Location: King Street shopping is fantastic and all sorts of historic sites and museums are very close by
Our 6th or 7th visit and each time our stay has been perfect. The hotel staff has no match anywhere. It is simply the best lodging option in Charleston

One minute past noonPosted Dec 29, 2013
Great location and renovated room. But I won't stay there again because of their ridiculous checkout policy. Checkout time is noon. I left the room at 11:59 am. As I went to the elevator I realized I had left my jacket in the room. I went back to the room but since it was 12:02 my door key no longer worked and I was locked out. They do not give you one second of grace time. Noon comes and if you haven't checked out they lock you out. Your key no longer works. I wouldn't be surprised if you haven't checked out by 12:15 they will have confiscated your luggage. What nonsense!
