Love the location and the cleanliness. Being a native to the Charleston area, it’s a great location for me to see family and friends. The only issue I had with this property is the front desk employee. Apparently my wife was calling to see if they had a room available before 3pm. I’m driving and trying to find the confirmation number while the attendant was on the phone with my wife. I guess me trying to drive and trying to find the confirmation number ,made her have an attitude about the situation. When we arrived, she was assisting a couple with their check in, she so cordial and polite with them. When it was my turn to check in and I gave her my identification, her attention and attitude went far left.Barely looked at me, conversation was kept short and to a minimum. Now I worked in the hospitality industry for over 30 years, and that was no where near correct how she handled myself and my wife. I love staying here and I will not let her deter me from staying there again.

My stay at this Marriott was one of the best ever! The entire facility is just beautiful, and appears to be newly renovated. The rooms are expansive and filled with everything I needed when staying for business, and I can see how great a double queen room would be for families, because of how spacious it is, and even has a rolling luggage cart with room for storing clothes underneath it. I love actually having a tub shower combo too, since I’m a bath person. The view of the ocean was beautiful. The staff was extremely helpful to every need. and I needed a couple of things. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Great for Business Travel and Conferences
I travel a lot for business and can tell that all Marriotts are not created equal. This is a very comfortable hotel to stay in and while it's not really walking distance from anything it has everything you need, a nice lounge area with plenty of comfortable seating, a nice bar, a restaurant that serves good food an excellent staff and easy access to downtown and North Charleston. The staff here are considerate and attentive and goe out of their way to make sure you're having a good stay. While it's not a new hotel and it shows a little wear and tear here and there, it has modern amenities and it's clean and you can tell it's well maintained. The airport is very close, less than a 5 minute drive which makes this hotel ideal for business travelers and conferences and most of the guests are regulars. Due to the proximity to the Airport there are also a fair number of pilots and airline staff along with military personnel as the airport is both civilian and military so you're in good company and there's guaranteed to be some interesting conversation in the lounge. If you're doing business in Charleston and you don't need to be "downtown", which is a quick 20 minute drive by the way, this is a great place to stay. Easy in and out, free parking, good food, clean, safe and easy access to the airport.

I was surprised that a pricey hotel like this one didn’t have a microwave in the room. It was so inconvenient to go downtowns and wait in line to use the small one in the lobby. I will not be returning. This is ridiculous!

I booked online due to the proximity of the hotel to a 2-day festival I was attending. Quite expensive. I had high expectations. Decor is modern and minimalist. Lots of poor function issues with the room. No drawers, sink doesn't drain. Form over function. Elevator on floor 6 malfunctioning for 2 days. Included breakfast was inedible. Also food safety issues. Coffee maker in room is pure garbage. No microwave.

We had a great stay and would come back! The staff was friendly and attentive. Having a noon check-out was top notch! Only thing I didn't love was the shower floor looked like it could use a deep, deep clean. We also wish the bathroom exhaust fan was bigger and switch activated because steam would accumulate quickly. The overall property looks dated on the outside, even though it has been painted. We heard that previously it was a part of another hotel chain so maybe that's why the look on the outside didn't feel like Marriott. However, the inside was updated and beautiful. Well-kept spaces.

The first room was dirty, there was hair on my pillow. They switched us to the 8th floor. The room was decent, the bathroom wasn't clean in its entirety. There was someone else’s clothes under the sink and someone else’s eye lashes on the trash can. We asked housekeeping to clean the room after 3pm since we were leaving at that time and they never came back. Once we got back to the room we noticed that the room was still dirty, trash can full and no towels and wash cloths.

No microwave in rooms, I was on the 8 floor and by the time I went downstairs to heat my food up then back up my food still wasn’t HOT. Paid over $300.00 and the room was small. Also, I was told several different check in procedures which lead to me driving all the way to Charleston and almost not being able to check in my room because I was misinformed about my check in.

Staff is top-notch
We were here for a very quick overnight but I really want to give a shout-out to the staff. Everyone we encountered, from the gentleman who checked us in to our server in the restaurant, was so friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and comfortable and the restaurant in the lobby was great, but the staff really brought this from a 4-star experience to a 5-star one.
