Best value in Charleston

Posted Mar 19, 2015
Pros: Clean, friendly, budget.
Cons: Needs a facelift, but not a crisis.
Location: Not too much - take a cab downtown/crosstown.
Stayed here a couple times - a great value for Charleston. Not quite walking distance to attractions (nor would you probably want to) but cabs are 8 bucks anywhere and with the limited inventory in the city, this is a great, clean, choice.

We are located 1 mile from the visitors center and 1 3/4 miles from the center of the historic district. There is a free trolley that picks up beside the hotel for the guests that do not want to walk or take a taxi to the historic district. We hope you come back and let us give you the same great service as before.

On the trolley line

Posted Mar 12, 2015
Pros: Good rate for being close to the historic area.
Location: No restaurant onsite and nothing within walking distance except for a fast food restaurant next door.
Our room was comfortable and nicely remodeled. The staff was very helpful and we enjoyed the breakfast. It was helpful that the trolley stop was right outside the door. Room was very clean except that the grout between the tiles on the bathroom floor was really dirty (room 610).

Comfortable hotel close to downtown.

Posted Mar 5, 2015
Hotel was very adequate for our needs. This was our first time to Charleston, and we decided to stay near downtown and use the shuttle to the historic district rather than stay further out and have to rent a car. The staff were friendly, although one gave us incorrect info on the shuttle. We waited for a long time out in the cold, and ended up walking to the downtown area on Sunday morning. Fairly long hike. No problem the other days after we figured out the schedule. The continental breakfasts were very good. Good selection of hot and cold items, friendly attendant keeping things supplied. Our room was comfortable and clean. Overall a very good stay.

Donna, I am pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. We make it our goal to make sure that each guest enjoys their stay and I am glad you did. The shuttle on Sunday picks up at our stop about 9:30 and every half hour after. We have some great employees and I have let them know how happy you were with their services. I look forward to having you visit us again.

Too far from the sites

Posted Mar 4, 2015
Location: The only truly nearby attractions are the medical centers.
It's an OK hotel, about what you'd expect for the price. The people in the room next door were loud and the walls are pretty thin so you can hear a lot. It's on the highway so there is noise from the traffic. My main complaint is that it's too far from the Historic District; in the future I would pay more to stay in the center. There is a city bus and a free trolley service but it is time consuming and not always convenient when you have limited time.

Thank you for staying with us while you visited Charleston. It is unfortunate that the guests in the room next to you were making so much noise. Sometimes when people go on vacation they don't realize that other people are on vacation also and may want some peace and quiet from their hectic day. Along with the trolley system we do have taxi services that will take you to the historic district for a small fare. Although some of our rooms are near the highway we do have many others that are not. I hope you come to visit us again and we can put you in a room that fits your needs more.

Weekend in Charleston

Posted Mar 4, 2015
Pros: The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The breakfast was also a pleasant surprise. A very nice dining area and nice food options.
Location: My husband and I were able to go for an hour run from the hotel along the marina, past the Coast Guard station and into the quaint downtown.
My husband and I were pleasantly surprised with how nice our stay at the Comfort Inn was. The staff were great, the breakfast in the morning had a big variety of food which was very accommodating to our dietary needs. The room was clean and up to our standanrds.

Nice updated rooms

Posted Feb 24, 2015
I liked the hotel. Very clean updated rooms. Comfortable beds. One downside was the housekeepers were all over the hallways with a bunch of carts. Taking up the hallways. They were saying that employees didn't gave their own elevator.

Not walkable to downtown

Posted Feb 21, 2015
The hotel was undergoing renovations (that we were not informed of) and it was not downtown but removed from where we wanted to be. They did get us a cab super quick though each time.
