Unfortunately had a room with a doot to the next room, we could hear everything our next door neighbors said. The room doors were extremely noisy when closing, could constantly hear slamming of doors from the hallway. The hotel itself is nice, but it is the noisiest place I have stayed in for a long time, I'm not sure I would stay here again!

Hotel overlooks marina

Nice relaxing atmosphere, delicious breakfast, no dinner or lunch which is a bit inconvenient. Staff very helpful and half hour shuttle to and from heritage areas very convenient and inexpensive.

Nice surprises

Pros: Good attention to details
Cons: The bathrooms desperately need to be updated to fall into line with the quality of everything else at the hotel.
Location: Eat at Poogan's Porch while you're visiting Charleston - it is a treat!
Little things count - the urns of fruit infused cold water at the front door, the dark chocolate waiting in our room, the attention to our request for a quiet room on a high floor. The location is great - just a 5 minute drive into historic Charleston (or use the shuttle), and plenty free parking. Great outdoor seating for relaxing with a drink in the evening. The view into the harbor is gorgeous and I didn't expect to enjoy lounging at the pool and the hot tub, but I really did! Pizza on the house in the bar, with Monday night football, too. Comfortable bed, good linens and pillows. The only disappointment was the bathroom - small, old, and spartan.

Breakfast Food

Pros: Management and staff were helpful and considerate. Hotel was nice and clean and reasonably priced, for Charlotte!
Cons: FOOD BAR!
Location: Plantations, downtown, restaurants, general historical places of interest, USS Yorktown.
The first morning's breakfast we ate at the hotel........from the buffet. The food was plentiful but was cold. We told the staff and a manager came over and apologized and told us they'd make sure the food was hot the following day. It wasn't. It was pretty much the same and when ine of our party of four mentioned it to the same manager, the response was "well no-one else has complained"..........hardly the point!! Again another manager came over and apologized and we ate from the menu. Food came out hot but not all our party got their food at the same time. We were given coupons for free breakfasts for the next day and also free shuttle rides to downtown Charlotte......very generous. However, the next day, the same thing, cold food. So, if you want a hot breakfast at this hotel, either get there as the buffet opens or order from the menu. Otherwise, eat elsewhere. Overall the staff were very professional, other then the manager who told us "no-one else had complained." And that's one of the problems folks......if things aren't right, you have to tell the management rather than just accept it!

It was really convenient to park our car at the hotel and for a small fee take the shuttle to downtown historic Charleston.

Pros: I liked the beds and bedding. Wifi was good - thanks. It was quiet.
Overall, very pleasant stay. Great view, really nice pool area. Room was nice - bed and bedding were particularly comfortable. I thought it was a good value for the price I paid. However, if you have plans to go to West Ashley, it is hard to get there from the hotel. I guess I knew that coming in but it was worse than I thought. Getting downtown is a snap. Also, I could not get food on Sunday afternoon to watch football - beer, yes. If you come in late in the evening after dinner, parking is sparse - covered parking I should say. That is a first-world problem, though, and parking is free. Overall, a nice stay.

Courtyard Charleston Waterfront by Marriottt

The waterfront is a view of a marina. While the comfort there was fine the hotel does have issues. We weren't able to check in until 4:30 when check-in is 3 p.m., and we were with a wedding group. Those needing to get to a 5 p.m. rehearsal for hard pressed and some were not as clean as they'd hoped to have been. The hotel also charges in error for items. We did not crack open the $4 water bottle in our room but they charged us anyway. We weren't to be charged for internet but it too was charged. This item we mentioned to staff who removed it, then added it back on. I believe that perhaps the facility is too big for the management in place to deal with. Lastly, we were staying two nights so planned on skipping housekeeping. In less than 24 hours, there was a letter under the door from the management, stating that if housekeeping wasn't allowed in within the next 24 hours, they would be doing a "wellness check" and entering the room.

Great Hotel. Nice pool.

This was a great place to stay. It is a little outside of the city but the pool is great and it over looks a harbor. It is great for relaxing and then a quick cab ride into the city for Charleston activities.
