No ironing board in the facility but had ironing board stand in room. Towels were old dingy and one had a tear on the end. Could only use cell phone when by the window. Staff pleasant and helpful. Location near business district

Nice hotel directly on creekPosted Aug 5, 2013
Location: Great location, convenient to shops, downtown, and beaches.
We enjoyed our 4-day stay! This was our first vacation with our granddaughter. She loved the walk down the dock. The staff was helpful and courteous. They kept the room clean each day ready for our return. Mrs. Sigmon, the manager, was super friendly and willing to do whatever to make our stay enjoyable. My husband and I both agree we will definitely be staying with them again.

Functional hotel with friendly check in staffPosted Aug 5, 2013 on Hotels.com
Hotel is a bit downscale but the really nice people during check in made us feel very comfortable. Our air conditioning wasn't working so we had to change rooms but we found the next day it only had to be reset. The staff assisted us with finding a rec center for our boys to play basketball and had excellent restaurant recommendations to offer. I would stay here again. There are grills and picnic tables so if you want to cook dinner (Costco down the street) it's nice to have that option.

Good Nights SleepPosted Jul 25, 2013
Cons: Rooms are dated and need some renovating.
Originally gave us a room on the 2nd floor but had to switch us as the TV was not working properly. We were very glad because the room had no carpeting, all tile, did not give a good appearance at all. Found out later on that animals were allowed and that was probably the rooms for them. Our room on the first floor was very nice and the beds were the most comforatble we have slept on in a long time. Contintenal breakfast was nice and all employees exceptionally nice.

Good Value Away from DowntownPosted Jul 12, 2013 on Hotels.com
Stayed during the 4th of July, so it was a very busy time and we were pleased with the service we received. The expectations were not the Marriott going into this, I was expecting a little motel. I was surprised by a better than expected experience overall. The breakfast in the lobby was wonderful! They had a make your own waffle iron and biscuits with gravy which was so delicious, among yogurt, bagels, fruit, oatmeal, grits, juice, and coffee!! The view behind the motel was peaceful, but the main highway did lend to a little noise at times but that is to be expected right on Hwy 17. The Inn is on Hwy. 17 just past the 526 by-pass. It was heavy traffic due to the holiday I believe so getting into downtown Charleston was a little hectic, but not a deal breaker. Plenty of places to eat and shop close by. The room itself, while appeared clean, towels were not given unless you gave up the ones you already had so you can only have one towel at a time. Overall, if you are looking for a cheap place to just lay your head for the night and have a very good breakfast that is included in your room price and only need one towel, this is a great little place with VERY VERY FRIENDLY staff.

Good proximity to downtown Charleston (8 miles)Posted Jul 2, 2013
Pros: Comfortable bed, I have back problems.
Cons: Repairing walls and ceilings and painting rooms.
Location: 8 miles straight up the road to downtown Charleston.
The room itself was a bit tired and in need of paint and updating but it was clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast was better than just a grab and go but nothing fancy. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is an 8 mile straight shot up the road to downtown Charleston. Great trade offs while traveling on a budget.
