Wrong room

Posted Mar 17, 2014 on Hotels.com
Overall the stay was good. When we arrived, I was given a room I did not pay for (I paid for a King and was given a standard double bed room). I went back to front desk and no one was available to help me but the driver of the shuttle. He attempted to fix situation but wasn't able to as it wasn't his job. I called IHG and they sent me to a department that did not answer. I decided to wait till the morning and the gentleman apologized and offered to switch rooms and offered free breakfast for both days. The hotel and rooms were really nice. distance to downtown isn't too far but I would probably stay at a hotel closer to downtown if planning on visiting just downtown area. Other than that, it was a good choice.

Horrible

Posted Mar 11, 2014 on Hotels.com
My wife and I decided to travel to Charleston for the weekend. We usually stay at a different hotel but decided to give this one a try even though it was alittle over what we normally spend. Worst experience at a hotel ever. The walls were so thin you could clearly hear the conversations in the room next door. There was a conference going, so people were up and down the hallway all night, talking normally but the walls reverberated the sound. The bed was so uncomfortable I could have been as comfortable on the floor, at least the floor would not have squeaked with EVERY move, and not the good kind of squeaking ; ) for what we paid a night I expected so much more. When looking for a hotel you look for 3 things, cleanliness (excellent) comfort (non existent) and relaxation so you can sleep(nope). Very beautiful hotel, clean, modern, just sucked.

Hotel was comfortable but..

Posted Mar 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
I think the hotel was stratigically located. The mall, restuarants and highway were in either walking distance or a short drive. The hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating. The room was spacious, beds comfortable and working space was adequate. The biggest issue I had with the hotel was that it is noisy. The lobby is open to most of the floors and the bar is close to the side where the rooms are and voices carry. The other thing is that the room is spacious but the bathroom though modern it does little for privacy. The sliding door at first glace is modern it leaves nothing to the imagination. So, if you go with other than family one might need to leave the room when you go to the bath room. Just saying...
