Noisy, dated

Posted Nov 6, 2014
Uncomfortable beds, pretty bad street noise, overloaded outlet with TV, fridge, lights plugged in which weighed down the outlet extender so it drooped making the TV and fridge consistently shut off. Did I mention the dirty bedspreads? Spend a little more and stay at the King Charles Inn.

Good Location

Posted Nov 2, 2014
Cons: Clean the lobby, offer secure storage of bags at the front desk.
Location: 90% of Charleston restaurants and attractions are in walking distance.
Hotel was in a great location and was the most affordable in the downtown area. I did have a couple of minor issues, but none of them would cause me not to stay there again. 1) The front desk originally was going to stand by their 4:00 check in (our flight arrived at noon). They offered unsecured storage of our bags until then. Finally at 3 they found a room for us. 2) One day the maid left us with no towels. 3) Their lobby was dirty. But the room was clean and the beds comfortable. Not a lot of noise at night. Overall a good stay for the money

Stay far away from!

Posted Nov 1, 2014
I wish we could fine something positive to say about our stay. We started with a missing remote that was replaced with a broken one. Then there was the blood smears on the trash can. Or maybe if the coffeemaker worked. Perhaps I would be more satisfied if the place was even semi clean. Or maybe if the staff cared even a little bit when anything was brought to their attention. You can make your own decision.

Location

Posted Oct 30, 2014
Pros: location
Cons: Everything. Service, facilities, staff attitude, etc.
The only reason anyone should stay in this hotel is location - its proximity to most of the places one wants to see in the historic old town in Charleston. Other than that, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Very small room, not even basic amenities. Restroom is very tiny, not so clean and there are small roaches crawling. Bed is old and pillows are not good quality. Staff are far from friendly.

Below average hotel close to historic district.

Posted Oct 28, 2014
Pros: Location.
Cons: Complete overhaul.
Location: Near markets, historic district and trolley.
Old hotel in need of serious updating. Very musty. Old wallpaper and carpet need to go. Fresh paint and tile floor would help. Even a little power washing outside would help. Staff was friendly.

Hotel close to historic district

Posted Oct 26, 2014
Pros: Close location to the centre and you can park your car in front of your room
Location: Very close to the water front Nd historic district of Charleston
A disappointed stay in Charleston which is a lovely town. Booked a smoking smoking room by mistake, hotel staff was adamant that booking could not be changed because booking away made via expedia. Toilet flushed all the time thus making a noise all night None of the usual offerings from other hotels ie free safe, complimentary breakfast. There a restaurant next door but beware you have to pay for your coffee when ordering the breakfast. Disappointing stay on the whole.
