Great price, limited expectations

Posted Aug 20, 2014
Pros: The staff and service were great. The location was perfect.
Cons: Modernize the rooms, provide candles for mustiness. Get a fitness center.
Location: Great food and shopping
This hotel is the most reasonable price in the Historic District. There is no fitness center, complimentary breakfast, or high end amenities. The rooms are a bit musty which, will be typical of older hotels in Charleston, SC. Overall, the staff was excellent. The rooms have limited cable and old CRT style Televisions. The hotel, is however, ideally situated for sight seeing in the Historic District.

In historic district

Clean and comfortable. Had to park in public garage across the street, but the hotel paid me back upon presentation of parking receipt. Good location in historic district.

Great Location/Great Value

Posted Aug 18, 2014
Pros: Location, Hotel Staff, Cleaning Lady, Great AC, Free Parking, Nice roomy refrig., Always accomodate my room request.
Cons: Bathroom door needs to be changed/painted, pillows could be bigger
Location: The location in historic Charleston couldn't be better, near the Market on Meeting Street where you can walk everywhere to all the attractions.
Friendly staff, nice cool ac, room request was met. Our annual trip to Charleston always includes a stay at this hotel. It's in a great location @ Meeting/Market Streets, free parking and we've never had a bad experience. Will definitely be back next year!

Our stay was for one night and it will be our last. The staff was rude and the room was small dirty and smelly.

Downtown Charleston Stay

Posted Aug 6, 2014
Pros: Location and price cannot be beat.
Location: This location is right in the heart of downtown Charleston. The open air market is less than a block away. King Street dining and shopping are close
Friendly staff, great place to sleep and get ready for the next busy day. This place suited my needs just fine.

Hotel Is In A Great Location. It Is An Older Hotel That Clearly Needs Some Updating. They Offer Free Parking Which We Thought Was A Good Thing, But Not Enough Parking Spaces For The Amount Of Rooms. We Had To Park In A Parking Deck Which They Reimbursed Us For, But Dont Offer Parking If You Truly Dont Have Enough On The Premises! We Got There On A Friday And Needed More Towels. When We Called To The Front Desk They Said The Maid Was Off Today And They Didnt Have Any Right Then, We Would Have To Wait Until The Next Day! And To Top That Off One Of The Blankets On The Bed Had Some Stains On It. When We Asked For Another Blanket They Told Us The Same Thing The Maid Was Off They Didnt Have Any Right Now!

The hotel staff when checking in was not helpful or friendly at all! It's close to everything but would not suggest this hotel to any of my friends.

Pros: Convenient to historical district.
It is very convenient to the historical district, so that is good. It needs a thorough cleaning--especially the bathroom. The shower drain did not work. They tried to fix it but it still was clogged. Also, not enough towels.
