Perfect for families

Posted May 14, 2015
The junior suite was perfect for us as a family. Our two children could sleep in peace upstairs while we were able to relax downstairs in the living area. The location is also ideal, in the historic area of Charleston. The market is just to the right and the carriage tours depart across the car park - all steps from the hotel! Apart from occasional noise from the side street outside our room, I cannot fault the hotel!

Location, location, location...

Pros: Nicely appointed, felt grand without being stuffy Location was excellent for 'hoofing' it about town Though centrally located was quiet within
Location: Wonderful dining at Magnolia's Hall's Chophouse for Sunday Brunch Walk & explore! The Harbour cruise & Buggy ride was fun
To begin with, our rooms were ready early & we received Warm Cookies ~ how can you go wrong with that. We had 3 jr suites with 2 floors ~ nice separation / also kitchenette so if you couldn't consume your wonderful dinner (great restaurants & seafood galore) you could store it in your mini fridge for later. (also great for cool beverages) The location was walking distance to many sites & shopping. Staff was friendly & couldn't be more helpful. I chose this place for my investment club's annual trip & all the ladies were delighted & impressed ~ and some of them can be hard to please! So 'Thank You' DoubleTree for making me look good!

Excellent location in Charleston

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Needs some updates
Location: Great restaurants and historic locations all within walking distance
Location is key for this hotel. We could walk to everything we wanted to see in less than a mile. The staff were great and the rooms were nice. It was a bit pricey but worth it to be in the middle of the historic and restaurant district.

Superb location

Posted Apr 27, 2015
Pros: Location and accommodations
Cons: The exercise room is poorly equipped.
Location: Dining, historic tours, museums and the market are right outside the door. Charleston is one of the most pedestrian friendly cities.
The two story suite off the courtyard was nurturing base for exploring the wealth of culture and dining just outside its door. We could not have been more pleased.

Cons: Furniture could be updated.
A genuine and courteous by all staff members and it's central location in the hearts of the historic Charleston makes this hotel an ideal place to stay.
