Mediocre placePosted Apr 5, 2014
Location: Husk Restaurant is right next door.
I really wanted to like. This place. The location was ideal and the outside appeared charming. However the devil is always in the details. Outside lights were on all night, appropriately, but there was only a blind, not a drape at the window, so the room was bright. The bathroom mirror was hung too low for me to see my entire face without leaning, and I'm 5'7". The patio off our room had uneven bricks and was littered with dead leaves. Elliott House is simply too expensive for the lack of attention to detail.

Great stay in downtown CharlestonPosted Feb 26, 2014
Pros: Relaxing setting, quiet courtyard, pleasant wine/cheese reception, quaint breakfast service. Private courtyard was nice, but needed to be swept.
Cons: Our room had very poor lighting, one bedside lamp did not work and the bathroom lights were very dim. King sized bed was nice, but quite hard.
Location: Wonderful location for walking around Charleston. Staff gave great recommendations for lunch, dinner, and things to see.
We traveled with friends for an overnight trip to Charleston. The Elliott Inn was easy to find and parking across the street was convenient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would recommend it to friends, and would love to return and stay here again.

Location was good & very bad!Posted Feb 18, 2014
The room was nice & clean, but the heat & shower did not work properly. Also, my biggest issue was the location. It was good because it was near everything but it was also way too close. All hours of the morning delivery trucks & garbage trucks were parked out front making all kinds of noise. This hotel is next door to multiple restaurants. I was there for 3 nights and did not get one good nights sleep. Also, the blinds let too much light in. The street lights made it look like day time in the room all night. The last morning there construction started outside on the street. Great way to finish!!

Nice B&B in the historic districtPosted Feb 17, 2014
Pros: The room was large with great décor. The TV was a little on the small side but we didn't watch a lot of TV. The continental breakfast was ok.
Cons: The room seemed a little drafty especially during the ice storm. The breakfast should have had more variety and more food.
We loved the location centered in the historic district. There were great restaurants close by and walking distance to the water. The person at the front desk recommended a fine Thai restaurant for Valentines and got us reservations. It was very authentic. With the ice storm which lasted two days, we stayed close to the historic district visiting the museums, art galleries and historic homes. When it warmed up, Fort Sumpter, the plantations and other sites were easily accessible.

Beautiful Hotel Next to Everything!Posted Jan 31, 2014
Location: Close to historic Charleston and shopping! Would recommend the South End brewery for craft beer and pulled pork.
We stayed in Charleston as the first leg of a road trip through the American South. The hotel was beautiful and the staff was very friendly, even drawing us maps of where we should go during our short stay. The courtyard was pretty and the jacuzzi was clean and open all night. Our room was in great condition, and getting breakfast in bed was another plus!

Excellent location. Public parking across street was fine. Enjoyed our stay. Fantastic. If u plan on much sleep bring sleep mask and ear plugs. Inn is between two very busy and beautiful restaurants.

Perfect Location!Posted Jan 14, 2014
Pros: Location, and the feel of a bed and breakfast as opposed to a "hotel"
Location: Lots of things within walking distance of hotel.
Rooms are perfect size for a couple. Bed was comfortable, room was clean, and the Front Desk guys were excellent. Breakfast wasn't over the top, but we really enjoyed it.
