Great place to overnight in your own city.Posted Oct 25, 2014
We chose the Elliott House Inn for their great location. It's an insiders pick - small, elegant and not widely known. Our room looked out on the shared terrace of 82 Queen and Husk. Wine and cheese were served in the afternoon and breakfast was included in the morning. With a city parking garage across the street this Inn couldn't have been more convenient for dining and shopping in Charleston. We will definitely make this our place to stay when we want a night out on the town without worrying about driving home to Folly Beach afterwards.

Pros: The location is excellent and very easy walking distance of everything. The breakfast is very good (especially the blueberry muffins
When we arrived the small room contained an overpowering odor of cleaning product. As we tried to go to sleep on our first night, we noticed the sheets on the bed were dirty and had hairs, a dried up contact lens and smudge marks on them. We were promptly given new sheets when we called the front desk. The room is small and has very little place to put any luggage. Also the bathroom has no room to put anything larger than a tube of toothpaste down. Additionally, the shower doesn't even have a place to put a bar of soap or shampoo other than the floor or the top of the toilet.

Dolled-up motelPosted Oct 15, 2014
Pros: The amenities, the bed and antiques.
Cons: Cleanliness in the courtyard.
Location: Near the Gibbs Museum and all the downtown sights.
The rooms are nicely appointed but this is basically a dolled-up motel with a dingy courtyard, not the B&B experience I'd hoped for. The price is all about location and not truly about quality. The staff were gracious and polite and the amenities nice but not at all luxurious.

business visit to CharlestonPosted Oct 10, 2014
Pros: the historic setting
Cons: The elevator is a little shaky
Location: Its downtown Charleston so that says it all. You are in walking distance to everything. I walked down and around the Battery every morning
I work occasionally in Charleston and often have to bring work back to the room with me. This hotel brings you back in time with the outside courtyard and historic setting, it was a pleasure to catch up on my paperwork in such a relaxing environment.

Charleston city centerPosted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: Location and whirpool with cool water in courtyard.
Cons: Maybe imporving the breadfast selection with hot selections.
Location: All of the sites were within walking distance, save the Fort Sumter tour that is reached by boat.
A unique hotel in the heart Chalreston within walking distance to most sites, a little dated but our room was very comfortable with great shower, AC worked fine and courtyard Jacuzzi style pool had tepid water that was great for the heat in Charleston. Courtyard wine and cheese was a nice touch and breakfast in the courtyard was basic but very relaxing. Not chap but I guess most places in Charleston center are the same. Lack of parking was no problem since a secure parking garage was adjcent. No lobby or hotel bar was avalible but who need one with all the fine places in Charleston.

The room was disgusting. Noisy A/C, unit direct on the room. No extra beds on the hotel as we asked by our online reservation. We paid total 656,- USD for two nights, and the room was worth about 50 bucks/night... We came on the hotel very late in the night, so we slept 2 adults and two children (4, and 10) in one king bed... Usually we're fine with our "baby" sleeping between us and our oldest on the extra bed. As we found next day , other people refuse this room that same day... because too small, too dated, too ugly... Pictures of this Hotel were perfect, when we booked, loads of Charleston charm , but the reality is different way... The staff was nice. The breakfast - one tinniest yogurt you can found in the store, one muffin and about two spoons of some cereals, and tiny glass of the cheapest orange juice... Completely disappointed.
