Desirable location in Historical Downtown

Posted Apr 18, 2014
Pros: The staff was very friendly and courteous. Any issues that were raised were handled with no questions asked.
Cons: Some TLC is needed
Location: Everything is walking distance in downtown and most Isle of Palm Beaches are within a 15 minute car drive.
We try to stay only at Hampton Inn's when we go away on our vacations twice a year. The hotel was clean but in need of a renovation and some TLC. The room sheets were clean but no longer soft and the wall paper was peeling in some places and the bathtub had a very visible chip that should have been repaired prior to renting the room. The hotel has a parking garage next door that reserves spots for guests so you are guaranteed a space. Walking distance to everything if you do not rent a car.

Bait and switch

Posted Apr 15, 2014
Booked 2 queen bed room 2 weeks in advance with others still available at time of booking. Staff informed me on day of arrival that my room's air conditioner was broken and they had to put my party of 3 in a room with a king bed and sleeper sofa and that all other rooms were booked. Really? Peculiar. So a customer who has already forked over the money gets shafted even though they made their reservation before all rooms are taken? How does that work?

Great Location

Posted Apr 3, 2014
Pros: Location was great, staff was very helpful, and the breakfast was very good! Rooms were good sized not crowded.
Cons: The mattresses were a bit too soft and saggy . The bed squeaked when you moved
Location: Location was great. Museum was right across the street, we walked to the aquarium and to several restaurants close by to choose from for dinner.
We had a wonderful time in Charleston. The hotel was in a good location, the staff was very helpful. We walked everywhere as the weather was beautiful.

This hotel located in the historic district across from the visitors center is a great place to stay. Staff was very friendly & helpful. Breakfast is free & very good. Rooms clean & comfortable. Would highly recommend this hotel. Also, there is a trolley stop across the street from the hotel. The trolley is free & you can hop on & off.

Fantastic location

Posted Mar 10, 2014
Pros: The location to so many great restaurants, shopping, and attractions.
Cons: Lower cost to park.
Location: Location was perfect. Visitors Center, Children's Museum, a historic house, and the Charleston Museum on the other 3 corners was great.
Everything about the hotel was exceptional. The decor, the breakfast, the quietness of the rooms, and the location to so many attractions made the stay wonderful. The only downfall was having to pay for parking. The garage is right next to the hotel and convenient but $16.00 per day is a little pricey.

Walking distance to great restaurants

Perfect location for our girls trip. Highly recommend the restaurants Fish and Husk both of which we walked to. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Nice complementary breakfast too!
