Nice hotel and great staff.

Posted Jul 26, 2015
Pros: We really loved the breakfast. We also really loved the attention Rachel and the other staff gave us.
Location: It is located only a few minutes from downtown Charleston as well as the beaches and islands. Great location with a great price and great amenities.
We were greeted by Rachel and she was wonderful! She made sure we were told of the amenities, like the pool and breakfast the next morning. She was pleasant and very professional. The next morning, the breakfast was excellent and just what we needed to start our day. We sat outside by the pool and enjoyed our breakfast. The rooms were clean and any other hotel staff we encountered were willing to offer assistance if we needed it. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Facility needs work

Posted Jul 24, 2015
We stayed a total of 4 nights, in 2 stays, over a one week period & one of the 2 elevators was out of order on both stays (a different one each time). Hallway carpets were pretty stained. The bathroom in my son's room wasn't cleaned when we checked in & the cleaning crew he had was generally sub par (we were on a different floor & ours was fine). Front desk staff were very nice tho & beds were fairly comfy. Probably wouldn't stay here again

Nice hotel about 15 minutes from Patriot Point

Posted Jul 16, 2015
Pros: Bed, Wi-Fi, parking, and air conditioning.
Cons: Cold water could be colder. Had to use ice if you wanted other than not very cold water from the tap.
Location: It was about 10 minutes from the downtown visiting center (Charleston) and 15 minutes to Patriots Point.
The room included a king size bed and a sleep sofa. As it was just my wife and I, the King-sized bed was more than enough. The bed was very comfortable. We had to raise the thermostat as the room was very cold when we checked in. Temp outside was mid-90's, thermostat was set on 68! We raised it to 73 and it was very cool and comfortable. The hotel was having a Manager's reception when we checked so we proceeded to drop the luggage in the room and get a "free" drink at the reception. Wi-Fi was free and worked well with my laptop and tablet. If we were in the Charleston area again we would be very likely to book this hotel.

Noise and Nets

Posted Jul 15, 2015
Air conditioning unit loudly running, waiving nets from around my face while in the room. Other than that I enjoyed the comfort of the room. The staff was excellent.

Easy drive into Historic Charleston

Posted Jul 15, 2015
Hotel is in good overall condition. Our room was quiet, no traffic noise. Our room AC kept us very cool although I overheard some in the elevator complain about being warm. We did not experience this, in fact we had to turn it up as it got too cool! We did use the pool in the early evening after walking Charleston and found it relaxing. The homemade cookies in the early evenings were very good! We had a king suite on the 4th floor and our only suggestion for improvement is the layout where the bath vanity is located. It is very tight quarters with the closet door and bathroom door making it difficult for two to navigate in and out without bumping each other or playing musical doors. It would be an improvement to remove the louvered closet door. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, it was good overall for the price paid.

Ideal location

Posted Jul 9, 2015
Pros: Comfortable beds, refrigerator in room, manager evenings with free drinks and snacks, free breakfast and free cookies.
Cons: Cleaning service complete rooms earlier.
Location: Bars, restaurants, mall and beaches near by. Downtown a straight shot from hotel.
The location was ideal. Since every location I was convenient from highway 17. Beaches, restaurants, the mall and downtown easily accessible. The only problem was even though we were gone from early in morning until late afternoon, we would still return everyday To find the maid service just beginning to clean our room. I understood this happening once but twice was annoying.

close to Charleston

Posted May 20, 2015
Pros: cleanliness and pleasant staff. Cookies in the evening was a 'nice touch'
Location: downtown Charleston and the plantations.
we asked to have a room change due to window view of a structural tower. The receptionist quickly and pleasantly made the change. At the end of a long touring day, we returned to our room in the evening with the lights on. What a pleasant and welcome surprise. All staff were pleasant and willing to meet our requests for a pleasant stay.

Excellent staff, clean room and comfy bed

Posted May 18, 2015
We were on the 4th floor. Got off the elevator and could smell moisture, thought to myself here we go, another Dungey hotel. Not the case. Yes the carpet could use a good cleaning , but the beds are newer, very comfortable, the staff is very friendly, the breakfast was good, hot and plenty full and the bathroom was clean! Hot coffee non stop in the lobby with cookies for a late night snack. Breakfast was different every day with staff there to keep the area clean and replenish supplies. Took a chance on this hotel and we're very glad we did. No need to spend a fortune to stay in the heart of Charleston, this hotel is close by with all the amenities you need for a fraction of the cost.
