Stress free enjoyable stay!Posted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: Location and service.
Cons: Shower stalls instead of tubs
The Harbor View was a perfect location for my wife and I to celebrate our 49th wedding anniversery. The atmosphere was excellent for relaxing and meeting new people. Walking distance to dining and shopping was a plus. A complimentary bottle of sparkling wine was a wonderful surprise to end pur stay.

An Absolute Precious Jewel!Posted Jun 9, 2014
Pros: The free trolley/shuttle bus (green/no. 211) stops right by the hotel and can take you to Marion Square where there is a farmer’s market every weekend
Cons: , as well as street fairs and exhibits (arts and crafts) during the week. We saw an art exhibit on the lawn during the Spoleto Festival.
Location: King Street, along which Charleston’s famous shopping district is located, is very close to Marion Square. Overall a memorable experience!
This hotel’s location right by the Harbor, in the heart of the downtown historic district, is unparalleled. The hotel is within walking distance to most attractions in downtown historic Charleston including the famous Market, old churches, museums, art galleries, rainbow row, the battery and others. Dining options around the hotel are great, with most notable restaurants located on or around East Bay, which is a block away from the hotel. We dined at High Cotton one evening, where we had a wonderful time (nice ambiance) and enjoyed exquisite food. To add to the pleasure of staying there, the service and hospitality were fantastic! This hotel and its staff exceeded our expectations! The daily complimentary cheese and wine happy hour, the freshly baked cookies and milk, and the occasional live entertainment on the roof are all phenomenal ideas, quite rare in most hotels and had the effect of producing an overall exceptional experience. The staff in general was very attentive, polite and helpful, and we had the good fortune of meeting Drue, one of the hotel’s managers, who made our stay an unforgettable one! He was absolutely wonderful: a savvy businessman, a friendly local with a wealth of knowledge about local attractions and a caring supervisor with great interpersonal skills, all embodied in one person! Marcus, Sabrina and Lisa were also terrific. We had a gorgeous room facing the harbor with its beautiful fountain, which are considered top attractions in Charleston.

Nice, comfortable hotel with closest water viewsPosted Jun 4, 2014
Beautiful, spacious hotel room within close walking distance of culture, food, drinks, and shopping in charleston. Friendly staff, very quiet hotel, updated, free wi fi and with comfortable memory foam- like beds. Substantial breakfast included with option to have delivered to roof top terrace to enjoy. Also offers wine/ cheese happy hour and milk and cookies at night. No hotel bar or restaurant but other close late night spots that are good substitutes. Would definitely stay here again.

Overall good experiencePosted May 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
the hotel is conveniently located in the downtown district. The free trolley is easily accessible. We initially were in room 115 which is located in the atrium where there is a conversation area. The conversation during the evening prevented my wife from falling asleep. We were relocated to room 310 which was quiet. The rooms we occupied are large and comfortable. However, the view on the west side ( opposite the bay ) overlooks electrical transmitters. It is not scenic.

A taste of historic Charleston with modern touchesPosted May 18, 2014
Cons: I can't think of anything I would change.
Location: Run, walk, or people watch at the park; water taxis to historic sites; walk to historic sites, great places to eat, city market, etc.
This hotel is a lovely, small establishment with great amenities. An expanded continental breakfast which can be eaten either in your room, in the lobby's atrium area, or on the rooftop overlooking the river. In addition, turn down service nightly and fresh cookies and milk. They also had a nightly wine and cheese reception. The staff is friendly and quite helpful. The location - right by Waterfront Park - is in easy walking distance of many of the historic sights of Charleston yet a short distance away from some of the noisier night life and tourist traffic. The room we had had two queen beds with memory foam mattresses. Each bed was a four poster bed which helped add to the historic touch. The bathroom was large and modern.

Stay exceeded expectations. Room was comfortable and all staff was exceedingly helpful and courteous. Only issue during our stay was on Saturday night getting our car from valet. They must have been short staffed that night as we only saw one attendant (there was normally a couple). The gentleman from the front desk after 20 minutes actually came running down and brought our car around without us requesting or complaining.

Outstanding in every respect! When booking the hotel, I had no concept of where it actually was in Charleston not having been to the city before. I must say " I did good!" The hotel's location, history, and moreover its staff were superior in every way imaginable. I would definitely stay here on future trips to the Holy City. Very impressed.
