“Absolutely wonderful”
Our visit was absolutely wonderful. The service at the hotel is very attentive, the room immaculate, the extras (breakfast in your room, wine and cheese, turndown) are just icing on the cake. We couldn't have asked for a better hotel, for service or location, while we were in Charleston. We can't wait to go back!
“Great Hotel”
Loved the Harborview! Only had 1 night to stay in Charleston. Got a great deal on Expedia for one night which included free parking ($18 value) and one free carriage ride ($22 value). The room was very, very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Loved the extras provided - wine and cheese reception, cookies and milk later in the evening. Continental breakfast was average but the delivery to the room was a nice luxury. Hotel is in a great location. We walked to dinner, shops and local bars and the waterfront pier across the street from the hotel. Can't wait to go back to Charleston and will definitelystay at the Harborview.
“professional and cooperative staff”
the hotel was a pleasure. location was perfect close to everything and the staff was professional and went out of their way to help us. it was nice that they called us by name it made us feel welcome. the breakfast was a nice touch as well as the wine and cheese and especially the cookies and milk at night. i would recommend this hotel to everyone
“Beautiful luxury in walkable Charleston”
This was our second visit to the HarbourView Inn. Both visits were amazing! The location cannot be topped. The hotel is within a 5 minute walk to some of Charleston's very best restaurants, Rainbow Row, and walks along the harbor. The rooms are clean, well-kept, and beautifully decorated. Breakfast is included, and is delivered to your room at a time of your choosing. The hotel is quiet and the beds are comfy! The only small issue we encountered on this trip was having to wait too long (twice) to retrieve our car from valet, due to understaffing. This will not stop us from returning, as this hotel is amazing!
“Very Luxurious”
wonderful place............they take care of you amazingly.
“Special Property All The Way Around!”
Having never been to Charleston before, we weren't sure how this Hotel and location would work as far as being centrally located, and not having an actual "restaurant." First of all, we LOVED the location! The Hotel has a rooftop offering lovely views of the harbor, along with rooms that have harbor view. Our room did not have a view, which was no big deal..first of all, there is so much to see and do, that you don't spend much time in the room, and secondly, you can have breakfast and wine and cheese on the rooftop with a gorgeous view! The location was perfect, close to all the fabulous restaurants, and anything else you would want to do in Charleston besides a plantation tour. There is no concierge, but the front desk staff was extremely helpful in offering suggestions, and booking restaurant reservations, boat tours, or most anything else. We found Drue and Scott in particular to give very personalized attention. We loved the wine and cheese hour from 5-6pm and had ours where else, but on the rooftop! We were fortunate to have great weather to enjoy that option. We would highly recommend the HarbourView Inn..
“Wonderful hotel. Great service.”
This was our first visit to Charleston and I found this hotel through Expedia. We were more than pleased. The service was impeccable and the location could not have been better - right on the harbor, easy walking distance to Market Street, King Street, and the not-to-be-missed "South of Broad" residential area. Daily breakfast in our room was a great treat and cookies every night were never missed. The staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the local area and beyond.
“Would stay here again”
We wanted to stay in a hotel with a "southern" feel, and this hotel had it. It was steps from the water in a wonderful location. We parked our car at the hotel and walked everywhere-- to restaurants, museums, around the historic neighborhoods and to the shopping areas. The only times we got in the car were to visit the Drayton Hall Plantation and to walk the Ravanal Bridge. The plantation tour was interesting, and I would highly recommend staying for the "Connections" session afterward. It's included in the tour price and provides a fascinating account of the plantation owners and their slaves. Don't miss it! We also walked partway across the Ravanal Bridge-- there is a pedestrian walkway popular with local walkers, joggers and bicyclists. As others have mentioned, the breakfasts and cookies at the hotel were very good. It was so hot when we visited that we just had breakfast, ice cream in the midafternoon and dinner.
“Great Trip to Charleston”
Our experience at the Harbourview Inn was great. We had a great location, great service, and great hotel staff. Free wine and cheese every evening for an hour topped off by fresh homemade cookies and milk at 9 every evening. I would recommend this hotel very highly. Harbourview Inn, "YOU ROCK"!
“Best place I've stayed!”
I travel to Charleston often and the Harbour View Inn is the best place I have found! Very friendly and accommodating! Great location and fantastic view of water and the fountain. Make sure you check out the rooftop terrace in the AM- beautiful view.
