Great location, even better staff!Posted Jan 11, 2015
Pros: The staff and Location
Cons: Room cleanliness
Location: The Battery, Waterfront Park, King Street, the Aquarium, and so much more!
Each staff member aided in making our vacation to Charleston all the more special! We relied on their recommendation for activities and restaurants and were never let down. They accommodated our every needs! Fabulous. Room was a bit dirty, but very comfortable. Hotel was within walking distance of anything we wanted to do in the Historic District.

Nice facility, ok locationPosted Jan 4, 2015
Pros: Room was spacious, shower was nice.
Location: Not the best location. Walking distance to Five Loaves and Prohibition. Trolley across the street.
Rooms were very comfortable and the hotel is fairly new so it is in very good condition. Convenient to free trolley. However, I would pay more for a room closer to the main area of town on my next visit. You end up paying the difference in cab fare anyway.

Great Hotel Convenient to Downtown CharlestonPosted Dec 21, 2014
Pros: The cleanliness, the convenience to downtown Charleston, and the staff
Cons: One day, housekeeping cleaned out all our old used shampoo bottles and didn't replace them. Also, a shower door was jammed while they were cleaning.
Location: The neighborhood isn't the most glamorous but it was 2 blocks away from the visitor's center, which is also near the free trolley around the peninsula
The staff was wonderful, especially Sarah at the front desk. She had great advice and recommended great places to eat nearby. We felt very comfortable and welcome during our stay. The visitor's center is also nearby which was great. I didn't rent a car during my stay in Charleston so the location of the hotel was great for us. Everywhere is either walkable or easily accessible with the trolley, which we could catch at the visitor's center. I stayed right in the middle of December before the holidays so there weren't too many tourists around, which we also enjoyed.

Clean, spacious rooms, fine for sightseeing bas. Just off King St., plenty of dining options. About 15 minute walk to old part of town though.

Thanksgiving VisitPosted Nov 30, 2014
Pros: Location is close to King Street restaurants and shops.
Cons: Add more seating in the lobby
Location: Walk to many restaurants and a nearby supermarket is great to pick up low cost snacks and drinks to put in our hotel room refrigerator
We enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Holiday Inn on Meeting Street. It is just a few blocks to the Visitor Center and the free trolleys which travel all through the historical areas of the city. It also was just a few blocks to the bus stop where we paid $.85 cents ( senior rate) to travel to the Husk Restaurant for an outstanding Thanksgiving dinner. This time we didn't rent a car but got around by taxi, trolley, bus and walking. We also walked to the "Coast" restaurant for an excellent dinner during our trip. The room we had was very nice and extremely quiet. The hotel doesn't provide a free breakfast nor a manager's reception but the breakfast we had at the hotel's restaurant was very good and reasonable.
