Nice Hotel

Posted Jun 27, 2014
My husband an I stayed here on a short business trip. Staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. Hotel itself was very nice and clean with great amenities! Our only drawback was the location- not walking distance to anywhere. If you plan on walking around downtown this wont be the hotel for you. Overall enjoyed the stay here.

Booked through Expedia

Posted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: Staff was friendly.
Cons: Wanted walking distance to Charleston downtown. Back door working and shampoos and condition size was tiny and impossible to get out.
Location: Location poor. Had to take trolley. In 95 degree heat, had to walk 10 blocks to get to trolley to get back. Enjoyed tour of fort Sumter.
Blind booking through Expedia. Supposed to be 3 star hotel in Charleston downtown. We were actually a 10 minute car ride. As there were seven of us, it was inconvenient. Would not recommend or book again. Sliding door in room did not work. Handle fell off and three people to close door. Breakfast had lines and food took a while to come out. My eggs were cold. Hotel staff knew little about the things to see in the area. Very disappointing.

Thank you for your feedback. We are located in Downtown Charleston, but not within walking distance of the Historic District. I apologize for any Maintenance or Service issues you experienced.

Road Trip 2014

Posted Jun 24, 2014 on Hotels.com
Our room was not as clean as it should have been. I expect better. Our friends room was good. The location was not as expected. We thought it would have been within walking distance of the Historic area. It is not. Not the Hotels fault. This is your standard 3 star hotel.

Thank you for your comments. We are very sorry we were not able to exceed your expectations. We are located in Downtown Charleston but not within walking distance to the Historic District which is why we are able to offer a more attractive rate and free parking.

Room way too small

Posted Jun 23, 2014 on Hotels.com
The room was so small that we had a hard time walking past each other. The bed was comfortable but unless you sat on the bed it was hard to watch tv. The "balcony" overlooked a boarded up restaurant and the garbage dumpsters. Not at all pleasant. The room was clean but we were severely disappointed in the size of it. We might stay there again but I would make sure to ask what the view is from the balcony.

Thank you for your review. Unfortunately not all of our rooms offer great views. Our standard King Rooms are slightly smaller with less amenities than our larger 2 Queen View rooms. We would be happy to do our best to fulfill any requests on your next stay.

Noisiest air conditioning ever

Posted Jun 23, 2014
Pros: Clean
Cons: Air conditioning
Location: close to Old Town Charleston we drove. It took about 10 mins.
The hotel us as you would expect for Holiday Inn, clean, basic but good value however, the A/C in the rooms was appalling. There was no sleep it was like a train taking off why they would ever use this equipment in a room where people are supposed to sleep is bizarre. I also saw my first ever pancake producing copier!...I know they want to find new ways to make the breakfast more efficient but this contraption where you pressed a button and a pancake came out there other end was very weird. I hate to think what was going on inside the pancake copier.

Thank you for your feedback. Thank you for mentioning our pancake machine! It's actually a very neat contraption. When you press the button, a small amount of mix is squeezed out onto a little conveyor belt and it cooks as it goes through and comes out the other side onto your plate! We often have moms with big families and lots of kids wish they could get one at home! And the pancakes are great!

Great location!

Posted Jun 22, 2014
Pros: Location!
Cons: N/A
Location: Restaurants, shopping, beach!
Our hotel was in a prime area in the center of all of the activities we were looking to experience throughout our stay. The trolly picked us up from our hotel and took us just a couple of miles downtown to all of the great restaurants and shops. The beach was just a short 15 minutes car ride away making everything so convenient!

Room by the pool was a little loud until the pool closed & parking in the entire area (including other hotels and restaurants we visited) was limited. Staff was VERY helpful & location was PERFECT :)

Horrible Air Conditioning

Posted Jun 10, 2014 on Hotels.com
The room was hot and muggy, and the air conditioner (no central air) would kick on every 5 minutes like a jet engine. It didn't cool the room well, but it did make a racket. Bathroom was small with a low ceiling and the shower was maybe 18" wide. Also, this hotel allows pets, which is great because all the dogs wake up and bark at the same time.

easy to historic area

Posted Jun 8, 2014 on Hotels.com
The room was clean and was close to the historic areas however the air conditioning unit cycled on and off without actually starting. This was very annoying. the price was good all things considered I would stay here again.
