“It was okay”

The price was good. You have to go over a bridge and park to get to the historic district, but that was pretty easy. The bed was comfortable but sloped to the middle. The thermostat was set for heating and cooling only 2 degrees apart, with the result that the heating and cooling came on all the time. My room overlooked the pool, and even though it was 50 degrees, some people sat at the pool and talked for a few hours late at night. The breakfast was good, with a selection of hot and cold foods. Overall, these are pretty mild complaints. It was a good value compared to the hotels in the heart of town.

“Great Hotel!”

This is a great hotel. It is the perfect location. You are only minutes away from everything It has the best Whole Foods Market across the street. The breakfast is very good. The only complaint we have is the bed was uncomfortable. It was like sleeping on a bag of potatoes. Yes, the bed is a MAJOR, but the rest of the hotel makes up for it. We would definitely stay there again, and we highly recommend it.

Area recommendations

Go to Boone's Plantation. It is beautiful. You have a chance to peek into our past. The live oak driveway is worth the trip. The tours were educational. We also found a great restaurant/bar called PEARLZ. It is wonderful, especially if you like to eat oysters. It is located on East Bay street downtown. We were also lucky enough to attend the Farmer's Market at Marion Square on Saturday. I can see why it was named one of the top ten in the nation. The place is bustling with happy, go lucky people. It is worth getting up early for! We will be coming back:)

“Very convenient location”

My family and I were visiting Charleston SC for the first time and wanted a convenient, comfortable location to stay, we found it with the Holiday Inn Express! 10 minutes from almost every where we wanted to go- historic district, Aquarium, Patriots Point, etc. Staff was friendly and helpful, rooms were spotless and comfortable, breakfast was great! I would have like to have know that there was road construction in front of the hotel but honestly, it wasn't much of an inconvenience. Would recommend this hotel and will be staying again when we return to Charleston.

Area recommendations

Highly recommend a carriage tour of historic Charleston, a quaint way to get an overview of historic Charleston. The USS Yorktown at Patriot's Point is a must see - the new Medal of Honor Museum is beautifully done and inspiring (bring a tissue!) I would also recommend the Noisy Oyster Restaurant across from the Straw Market - wonderful, fun dining for lunch or dinner.

“very pleased!”

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for a weekend visit to Charleston to look at some colleges in the area, this hotel was very clean appearing, as well as comfortable

“Fabulous!”

We visit Mt. Pleasant often to see family. We will most definetly stay at this hotel again and will recommend it to the rest of the family. I loved the clean, new, beautiful rooms. It was a very pleasant place "to come home too." Cincinnati, OH

Only for personal preference, we would like for the location to have been closer to the shopping areas of Mt. Pleasant because that is where family is located.

“Good Bang for your Buck”

Would definitely recommend this to others. I travel often and this was a good hotel for the price. Good breakfast, friendly staff, located at the base of the bridge. Only negatives were lots of road construction out front and walls are a little thin (could hear the neighbor coughing most of the night).

“Will return”

Very convenient to historical district just over the bridge wihtout the congestion of the historic district. Great breakfast and quiet location.

Area recommendations

Check out the historic Charleston area and drive to Follee beach. Magnolia Plantation is also beautiful.

“Great Alternative to Downtown”

Just across the bridge to downtown Charleston. Great access to highway in a good neighborhood (lots of hotels, new condos, a new park and pier and Whole Foods across the street) and a couple minutes from Patriot's Point. Hotel is clean, new and quiet. The staff was professional and breakfast is served in a very nice lobby. The breakfast was quite extensive and good (typical cold fare and hot food: eggs, bacon, biscuits and gravy). To top it off price is very good considering you are less than a 10 minute drive to downtown Charleston.
