Finally

Posted Dec 14, 2014
Pros: Excellent stay, very clean, excellent lobby and pool. All staff were pleasant and the breakfast was great. Fair epet fees.
Location: Close to the university, downtown and other shopping areas
Finally a hotel in Charleston that allows pets and doesn't resemble a kennel.

Perfect

VERY nice hotel. Friendly staff. No issues at all. Bought our puppy along as well. Breakfast was pretty limited though.. Not much of a variety.

Dear Shaun J, We love puppies and as a dog owner myself I know how convenient it is to be able to travel with her. Our pet friendly hotel welcomes your pet member of the family. Our complimentary full hot and cold breakfast buffet usually exceeds all our guests needs but we also offer a full ala carte menu for more personalized choices. We thank you for the nice comments. Retirement Trip

Posted Oct 4, 2014
If you don't mind trains passing on a regular basis throughout the night, this place is for you. Just don't eat there. My chicken ea extremely overdone. The carrots were cooked so long an infant without teeth could eat them. Completely tasteless! Breakfast was more of the same.

Dear DeDe, Yes we do have train tracks near the hotel and usually not many during the evening since they are used for industrial use versus commercial use. So sorry to hear of the restaurant experience. Chicken is our top seller and I hope you spoke with the server to get this rectified and find you something to your liking. We appreciate the comments so that we can make any necessary improvements. S Arnold, GM

Comfortable and modern

Posted Sep 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
I had the best nights sleep at this hotel. The bed was so comfortable that I wanted to stay in bed all day. The lobby is modern and has a very nice view of the pool area. The bar and restaurant are also open, light and airy. And the computer access area is also very nice and open, not stuck in a back room. I did not order from the menu, but the lunch that was provided for the conference was very good. The pasta salad was tasty and the home made potato chips were excellent. There is a nice shopping area nearby. The staff was friendly and I would definitely stay here again.

Very clean and comfortable, but no lunch

Posted Sep 2, 2014 on Hotels.com
The hotel was nice, but I was very disappointed in the lounge/bar and restaurant. The location of the bar was right by check-in and the restaurant was only open for breakfast and lunch, with a very limited menu.

Room condition

Posted Aug 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
The rooms overall were nice. I booked 2 rooms. One was very clean and no issues. The other had several long black hairs between the bed sheets, obvious they had not been changed between guests. The same room also had hair on the toilet seat. You guessed what kind it was. (This reporting will not allow the use of the name of that kind of hair. Says that it is inappropriate language. Not used in this context, but . . . ) The room in question was # 101 on Aug 10 2014 and check out on Aug 11, 2014. We were there for a payroll seminar and check out was not until 12 noon. So we both opted to not check out until then. When we went back to our rooms at 11:45 to use the rest room and get a power nap the rooms had already been cleaned but the linens had not. Wen changed. Housekeeping told us the linens had not been changed. It is not fair to us to be denied room access if we had not checked out. And it is not fair to the next guest to have used linens. Even aside from this issue overall everything was well maintained and appeared clean. Nice facility but certainly need to maintain fresh linens.

Dear Carol, I am so sorry for the linen issues. I thank you for giving us the specifics so that we could further investigate and address the issue with the appropriate person. That person has been put back into training since this is unacceptable to our guest and our management. I humbly apologize and know we really appreciated this information. Thanks, S Arnold GM
