Great location, great staff

Posted May 16, 2015
We only stayed one night because they were sold out but I would definitely recommend this to anyone who doesn't mind an older, more intimate hotel. The room was small but comfortable, and beautifully furnished. The bathroom was completely updated and clean. Our room overlooked a lovely courtyard with a fountain. The complimentary breakfast and evening reception was wonderful, too. But it's the staff that make this place exceptional. From the time we walked in, they were friendly, courteous, and so helpful. Each and every one of them. I would love to stay here again.

Location, location, and great staff and amenities

Posted May 13, 2015
Pros: Friendly staff and many amenities.............loved the wine and cheese event!
Cons: Our room was adequate in size but could have been just a little bit larger.
Location: Hotel is in the centre of the action.................best location in Charleston!
Such a nice surprise, with easy parking very close and polite helpful staff. Location of this hotel could not be better!

dust

Posted Apr 25, 2015 on Hotels
The room was small but clean. The outside hallways, however were dirty. The lamp outside our room was full of spider webs, hadn't been cleaned in awhile. When we went for breakfast (inside) there was a layer of dust on the door next to us, had been cleaned in awhile. Otherwise the hotel was fine, service good and close to everything. Would not stay again however.

Spring break

Pros: Staff
Excellent choice of hotels! Central location to everything, very convenient. The only thing I would change would be attention to small details from cleaning staff our second day of our stay. It was almost like the bathroom was not wiped down, anything straightened up or replaced. The staff was WONDERFUL and very accommodating!! Wine and cheese in evenings nice touch, breakfast staff very helpful and pleasant!

WHAT A SURPRISE!!

Great area of Charleston...right in the middle of everything. We just needed a room before leaving the next morning on a cruise. We walked into a beautiful antique hotel and our room had a working gas fireplace-which was perfect because the temps had dropped into the 40s. The staff was wonderful. We got back from our cruise in the morning and went back to the hotel and dropped our bags so we could explore Charleston all day as we had a late afternoon flight. They could not have been more accommodating and I cannot recommend them highly enough. If you need NEW....this isn't your place. But if you like antiques and feeling "at home", then this is the place for you!!

Cons: Coffee available all day - there is no coffee maker in the room, (but coffee was available in the reception area during the morning only)
Historic hotel in heart of Charleston has maintained character and charm. Rooms are comfortable, and common areas in keeping with the historic layout of the hotel with peaceful courtyards where breakfast / managers wine in the evening may be enjoyed.

Best little Inn on King Street!

Posted Dec 29, 2014 on Hotels
It was our first time at the Kings Courtyard Inn. The check in went smoothly, the room was immaculate and very spacious. The modern bathroom was great! Our stay included a sit down continental but very filling breakfast that included coffee, tea, juices, assorted pastries, boiled eggs, toast, bagels, English muffins, fruits, oatmeal, etc. Everybody was very pleasant. The hotel includes free wi-fi and although you have to pay $12 per night of parking (very reasonable for downtown) it includes coming and going as you please. Also, they have cocktail our at 5pm and it includes wine and cheese. I highly recommend this Inn and I know we will be returning :)

Bathroom wasn't cleaned 2 times. Beds were very hard. Not the new comfort matresses of most upscale places charging this price. Quaint and a wonderful location. Beautiful rooms.
