Luxury in great location.Posted Apr 21, 2014
Pros: Beautiful appointments and very comfortable.
Cons: Rooftop bar was open to the public and elevators were filled with drinking patrons.
Location: On the water within walking distance to historic sites. You don't need a car to shop or eat.
The accomodations were top notch. The morning coffee service was lovely and included fresh pastries and fruit.

Excellent Hotel!Posted Mar 13, 2014
Pros: So close to everything! Truly is in the center of the historic district. Beautiful hotel, from the spacious lobby/restaurant to the oversize rooms.
Cons: Nothing can be done to improve a great hotel.
Location: This hotel has the prefect location! Only a few steps out the front door to restaurants, shopping, and the City Market.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful hotel located in the center of historic Charleston. Only a few steps to the City Market, tours, carriage rides, and many stores and restaurants. The Pavilion Rooftop Bar is a fantastic plus. Good food and drinks with excellent views of Charleston. Highly recommend sunsets and evenings on the rooftop!

Not worth the price to stayPosted Mar 5, 2014
Starting with customer service, FAIL. They were not professional nor capable to provide excellent service. The consideration was lacking from the staff for a new customer. The restaurant was FANTASTIC! I'd only go back for the meal never to stay. We stayed on the club level expecting great breakfast, snacks and drinks during the day but chunks of crappy cheese only was served for about 45 minutes then quickly put away. We won't be returning.

Better options in CharlestonPosted Feb 24, 2014
Did not feel the love from the staff, felt like they were just there to hold down the fort, especially the reception staff who looked uninterested. Overall nice accommodations but under involved staff

Perfect location in center of Downtown CharlestonPosted Oct 8, 2013
Pros: location and proximity
Cons: air conditioning in restaurant / bar area needed to be warmer, its wasn't that hot at the end of Sept outside.
Location: too many to list.
Well looked after at this hotel, staff very friendly and helpful with any request or needs. right in center of downtown , with many bars and restaurants located a stones throw away.

Nice but some nigglesPosted Sep 25, 2013
Pros: Position, room, bathroom/shower, cleanliness
Cons: Pool opening hours - it is more of an appendage to the rooftop bar than a relaxing facility.
Location: Very good situation near the river, the city market and free trolley service to other areas. Plenty of restaurants within two or three minutes' walk
Excellent situation and elegant ambiance. However the rooftop pool closes at 5pm, presumably to allow the smart bar to take over. We found that particularly annoying having been out all day and wanting to cool off before dinner. There was also no possibility of a quiet afternoon by the pool as thumping music played continuously. The inclusive continental breakfast is laid out by the lifts on each floor for you to collect yourself. No trays, so you have to shuffle back to your room with a plate of (oversweet) pastries, juice, coffee and an apple/orange, put it on the floor and fiddle with your key.

you will be looking into a brick wallPosted Sep 18, 2013
Location: Close to restaurants and sightseeing
The Hotel is in a great location, nice lobby/ restaurant/ bar on 1st floor and roof top pool/ bar that is great. Guest rooms are nicely appointed, however THE ODD NUMBERED ROOMS ARE DUNGEONS, they look into a brick wall that is 4' away. No natural light.

July 31-August 2 stayPosted Aug 8, 2013
Pros: Location, architecture, room top bar and vistas
Cons: Attentive housekeeping to broken items: light bulbs, sink stoppers, bathroom hardware/fixtures
Location: Perfect for what to do in downtowm Charleston. Historic market across the street. Easy and short walks to the sea, historic sights
LOved everything about the property: location is excellent; roof top bar & view--even amid some raindrops onn night was sensational. Loved the continental breakfast presentation on each floor as if it was near butler-like hospitality--just a nice touch. My only complaint was a bathroom sink stopper issue that was not picked up on bythe housekeeper either day she cleaned the bathroom. Abosolutely will stay there again.
