Charming Hotel in Great LocationPosted Jun 18, 2014
Pros: Location and restaurant
Location: Near horse drawn carriage tours, shops, restaurants and Magnolia Planation. Boat to Fort Sumter is just 10 minutes away by pedicab.
The hotel is in right in the heart of Charleston, and walking distance to restaurants and shops. It is in a charming, historic building, but offered modern conveniences in the rooms. The hotel staff were wonderful and provided lots of assistance . The Peninsula Restaurant, located in the hotel, was fantastic and a true gourmet experience. The food was delicious and the wait staff highly attentive and professional. Breakfast in the outside garden was a treat. I would recommend the valet parking. It's a little pricey, but given the difficulty parking in the heart of Charleston, it was worth it.

Quaint hotel in downtown Charleston right across the street from high end shopping in one direction and the open market in the other. Staff is absolutely over the top in service. An outstanding restaurant on site as well.

Great hotelPosted Jun 3, 2014 on Hotels.com
Wonderful stay, staff is very professional and helpful. The hotel is gorgous and in pretty much the best location you could ask for in the center of historic Charleston. Only thing I might add is that the bathrooms appeared to be a bit dated...older tubs versus showers, etc.

Wonderful hotelPosted May 25, 2014 on Hotels.com
I loved this hotel, the location, and the service. The staff was super-friendly. The last night we were there they came around to tell us that due to circumstances beyond their control, there would be a power outage from 12 midnight to 6 a.m. They gave us a flashlight and glowsticks! We made the room extra cold ahead of time and just by chance I woke up when the power came back on at 4 a.m. (my phone was plugged in and buzzed). Then in the hurry to leave I left my brand-new expensive sweater there (it's white - blended in with the towels). They very kindly and efficiently FeExed it back to me within a couple of days. The location is right in the middle of town - we could walk everywhere. The market is right outside so if I wanted to think about buying something then come back later, it was possible - not just a fake promise to the vendors. I love Charleston. I wish one of my kids would go there for college or grad school so I could keep visiting.
