Great Service, Great Room...
Posted Jan 16, 2013
Pros: Nice blend of modern conveniences with historic property. Properly trained staff that responded to every request.
Cons: Peninsula Grill is overrated. Dinner was ho-hum, at best. The Charleston Grill runs circles around this place.
Polite, attentive staff. Clean, comfortable room. Great location. Nice amenities. What more could you ask for?

Pros: The size of the bathroom. Room comfort and furninshings.
Cons: We would have preferred being able to watch a couple of movies and to have had an honor bar in the room.
Location: Great location.
We enjoyed the bar and restaurant and the shops in the same block as well as the mardt. Loved the carriage ride with the tour.

Comfortable and luxurious hotel
Posted Jan 6, 2013
Location: The location is fantastic, you can walk to every point of interest in the town, it is very central.
We arrived at the Planters Inn driving from Greenville on the 26th of May 2013 for 4 nights, and it was very nice to leave your car at the entrance which was taken care off by one of the bell boys. The hotel was cosy and inviting and the staff at reception was very courteous. Our room was in the more modern bit and had two enormous queen beds which were very comfortable. Our bathroom had a large bath and was very comfortable. The room itself overlooked the market square and I thought this could be noisy but it had double glazing and we slept like a baby! Never heard a thing. Breakfast was delicious and could be taken outside or inside and we did notice that all Europeans ate outside and all Americans inside in the air conditioning! We never ate in the restaurant in the evening but it had a good reputation. Charleston is a delightful town and definitely worth a visit, and the Planters Inn is very much in tune with the place. The only negative was that there wasn't a chest of drawers to put your clothes in! All in all I can recommend the Planters Inn as a comfortable and luxurious place to stay.

Among the best Charleston has to offer.
Posted Jan 24, 2013
Pros: The Peninsula Grill is without doubt, the best restaurant to eat at in Charleston and what better way to enjoy it than not having to leave your hotel?
Right in the heart of downtown Charleston, you can't do much better. The staff is wonderful and will honor almost any request. The hotel is quite and luxurious. Just what I expect for $300+ a night. And if you stay, you absolutely must, must, MUST have dinner at the Peninsula Grill. You won't be disappointed.

Handicap access
Posted Jan 22, 2013
Pros: The staff and the dining room.
Cons: Handicap equipment
Location: Marvelous location with easy access to everything Charleston has to offer which is truly outstanding.
This is a wonderful hotel with outstanding staff. However from a handicap access point of view it leaves much to be desired. In the room, low toilets, very high beds and inadequate security bars in the shower. The entrance has steps and no handholds!

Simply Fabulous!
Posted Jan 17, 2013
Pros: The Staff and food.
Cons: Not a thing.
Location: Close to everything, just off the crowded tourist area, JUST RIGHT!
Simply wonderful! It was a delightful visit from start to finish (four nights). We thought the location was great, close to everything, but smack dab in the heart of the traffic. All employees went out of their way to help i any way - with southern charm and sincerity. The hotel size is just right, IMO, with 64 rooms, not too big and not too small. The Penninsula Grill is outstanding - food and service and style. And their outdoor eating area is CHARMING. This is the only place I will stay when in Charleston!!!

Pros: Location, staff
Cons: Let me think about this.
Location: Premiere site in Charleston.
The Hotel staff was cordial, helpful and informative. Rooms were extremely comfortable. It was right in the middle of all the Charleston action. I have already recommended hotel to others.
