“Perfect for city trips - not for more”

It is a standardised hotel. It's clean and the price for the room is very appropriate! Around the hotel there are construction works at the moment so it is pretty noisy already at 6:00 am. The WiFi did not work properly. The lobby was informed about that and they tried to fix it but with no success.

“A lot better than my expectations”

When we checked in at 3pm (an hour after stated check-in time), they gave us a key and we went to our room, but it had not been cleaned yet. The maid was a few doors down and quickly came over to clean the room, and it wasn't that big of a deal, since we had some things we could have done until it was ready. Everything was cleaner and nicer than I had expected. Clean room, shower was awesome, bed was comfy.

“Not Impressed”

The room looked clean, but if you walked barefooted your feet would turn black. There were roaches running across the walls at night. I killed 4 of them. I will not be going back to this hotel.

“Dirty, smelly, bug infested room.”

One of the worst experiences ever. Our room's smell knocked you down when you entered. There was a dehumidifier in the middle of the floor. There was a bug of some sort on the bed sheet. They offered to move us. The new room's toilet didn't work well and was moldy, and the key didn't work. we had to get the desk person to let us back in when we left the room. There were no vacancy's in the area or we would have checked out. The be was comfortable, but I couldn't stop thinking about the bug in the other bed. Felt trapped.

Area recommendations

Neighborhood was nice and convenient to Patriots Point. Hotel was difficult to find. Sign was obscured by shrubbery. GPS could not find it. It is on frontage road, not Johnnie Dobbs Hwy.

“ok but not impressed”

Staff were friendly and helpful but only bare basics at this hotel. Bed and sheets need replacement. Pet friendly though. Nice swimming pool.

MT. Pleasant and Patriot Point are good areas for hotel, shopping, and dining and are within about 6 miles or less to the beach at Isle of Palms.

“We Took a Chance, Not Exactly Happy”

Well we knew that for the low price booked at the last minute in the Charleston area that we were taking a risk. We are a young and not terribly picky couple though. Looking at other people's reviews I saw a few regarding cleanliness and it turns out these people were absolutely right. Housekeeping was kind of a joke, big long black hairs tucked into our towels, a very obvious weird brown burn stain on the sheet at the foot of the bed. On our second night we pulled back the covers and discovered same brown stain meaning sheets were not changed, just artfully arranged back onto bed to look like they had been. Soaps and PACKET of shampoo were not replenished. Good thing I brought my own extra. Positives: It was cheap and it was super convenient getting into downtown Charleston, and to the Ft. Sumter tour, and going to Sullivan island beaches. The hotel very obviously doesn't care about being totally clean. I would probably choose one of the other many hotels across from this one and pay an extra $10-20 a night next time. If I stayed here again, I would say something to mgmt.

Mt Pleasant/ Patriots Pt is super easy to go into downtown Charleston and reach a nearby beach. There are drug stores, restaurants, and groceries easily accessible.

“You get what you pay for.”

For the price I can't complain, plus the location and the restaurants. The Musterd Seed in Mt Pleasant had crabcakes to die for. Along the creek RB's we had a nice dinner and drinks at Vickery's. Walk the bridge. You get what you pay for at the motel the walls must be paper thin.
