Location was awesome

Posted Jul 23, 2015
Pros: Location, location, location,
Cons: Updating the hotel itself, like the exterior
Location: The creek was great for just watching, easy to get to the historic part of Charleston, good restaurants in walking distance.
The location was the best part. The issues we had were - one of the bed was very squeaky, the fridge has a ticking noise, the air conditioner was very loud and the hotel could use some updating.

Like adult spring break with no parking.

Posted Jul 22, 2015
Pros: Location to Patriots Point and downtown Charleston.
Cons: More parking
With restaurants on each side (and 3 across the creek) there is no parking available at the hotel. Loud, lots of activity going on until late. The property is showing its age as well but the room was clean. I'd avoid in the summer months if you are looking for a more quiet hotel as the whole Shem Creek area becomes one big party.

Tolle Lage am Flussufer und Naturschutzgebiet

Posted Jul 3, 2015

skip it, the view is not worth the hassle

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Cons: Maintenance, updating and staffing
Initially we found the TV didn't work, it got fixed, later we discovered the toilet would not work and reported it. After being ignored we reported it again, in person to the desk. The desk agent went to try to fix it with little result and we ended up having to plunge for the remained of the trip. The room was ok, dated and damp. This is not a $300 a night hotel, regardless of the view.

No view.

Looked for view. Was overlooking a open bar with people plainly seen and looking at top of building. Not happy.

Don't think I would stay again

Posted Jun 19, 2015
Pros: The view of the waterfront.
Cons: The beds were very uncomfortable, staff, cleanliness of the pool, parking, basically everything but the view needs improvement.
Location: very convenient to many things to do
The view of the waterfront was the only thing good about this hotel. The beds were very dated and extremely uncomfortable. Staff was ok but nothing to boast about. The pool had things floating on the bottom and was cracked in numerous places. For $300 a night this hotel is highly over rated. the parking was horrendous !!! Won't be going back any time soon sorry !

Great hotel with an amazing view of Shem Creek

Posted Jun 19, 2015
Pros: The view from our balcony on the creek side is absolutely amazing! The pool was clean and is also located on the creek side.
Cons: The garden tub was dirty and the air conditioner was loud.
Location: The hotel is within walking distance to several great restaurants and you can rent kayak's or paddle boards to take out on Shem Creek
My girlfriend and I decided to take a vacation in our own town and picked this hotel because we had eaten at several restaurants located next to it and with the amazing view of the shrimp boats on Shem Creek we couldn't resist. We only had one issue with the room which was the garden tub was either dirty or stained from years of use and the air conditioner was located on the wall above the bed and it was a bit loud. Other than that the room was very clean and well kept and our balcony was on the creek-side so it offered an amazing view of Shem Creek. For those of you that have never been to the area, the hotel is located within walking distance of several restraunts; RB's, Waters Edge, Vickery's, Table Tavern and Red's. I have personally been to Vickery's and Waters Edge and both are great restaurants. The pool is also located on the creek side and it was very clean and well kept. I would definitely recommend this hotel as we are planning to stay there again this year!

Convenient to Downtown Charleston

Posted Jun 18, 2015
Great place to stay. Lots of restaurants and bars all around the hotel. Very convenient to downtown Charleston and there's no problem with parking like with some of the downtown hotels.

Friendly, Clean, Great Location

Posted Jun 18, 2015
Pros: Quaint, quiet, clean.
Cons: Only cold breakfast offered. This doesn't really stick with you for a whole morning of site seeing.
Location: Very close to Patriots Point. Close to Charleston. Small drive to Isle of Palms marina, Folley Beach and Johns Island.
We loved this hotel. The staff was very friendly. The rooms were clean and had a balcony. There are no bad views from any angle. Incredibly scenic location with Shem creek on one side and salt marsh on the other. Multiple boardwalks that go along shem creek to Charleston harbor and also thru the marsh. Cute little pool with an awesome view of the water to watch boats, water birds and dolphins. Very affordable, not a lot of extras or amenities that you don't need.
