Hotel close to townPosted Jul 17, 2014
Pros: It was in walking distance to the downtown market, the Aquarium, and the tourist station.
Location: Market street has many good restaurants and shopping.
We went to a wedding down in Charleston, S.C. and picked this hotel due to it's closeness to the downtown area. Most attractions are within reasonable walking distance of the hotel. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly and helpful. Would stay here again.

Pros: Great location, walking distance to market area & many shops and restaurants. Friendly staff made stay more pleasant.
Location: Easy walking distance to shopping on King St and in market; many great restaurants near by
We enjoyed a 2-night getaway to Charleston and our stay in the Francis Marion was lovely. The staff was courteous and friendly, giving us tips about local restaurants. The location is perfect for walking the city. Our room was small but well-appointed and quite clean. We had a beautiful view of the park and College of Charleston.

Great hotel. Great downtown location!Posted Jul 10, 2014
Really enjoyed our stay here! The location was perfect. Loved the Saturday fresh market. What a wonderful surprise! The beds were very comfortable! The staff was so helpful. We had a maintenance man come to our room to assist is with the air conditioner. My husband had a migraine. He returned a hour later with Excedrine he had personally purchased at the CVS around the corner. Southern hospitality at it's very best. The only CON are the super small bathrooms.

Excellent locationPosted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: It was a nice stay
Cons: Take the safe off of the Closet floor. I would have liked a local news paper delivered to the room each morning
Location: Within walking distance of the majority of historical sites
Very helpful front desk. Rooms were cleaned promptly each morning. Good beding. Bath room was small but well appointed.

Amazing hotel with a little southern charm!Posted Jul 8, 2014
First time staying at the hotel on July 4th, 2014! The staff was amazing and everyone was so friendly. When I checked in they upgraded my room and didn't charge me for it. It was the best girls weekend ever! I'm looking forward to returning to Charkeston every year and of course staying at my favorite hotel...The Francis Marion hotel!

Great hotel for stay in charlestonPosted Jul 7, 2014
When arriving at the Francis Marion you are greeted with top notch hospitality from the front door to the staff behind the reception desk . Housekeeping is excellent and the atmosphere is friendly and inviting , the bathrooms are a bit small but not a big deal , if there was a pool here it would definitly be over the top as it is at the top already
