Charleston comfort

Posted Jul 14, 2014
Pros: Everything.
Cons: The Restoration is in the midst of a major expansion. We hope that, once completed, it will not destroy the homey atmosphere.
Location: The Restoration is in the heart of all that's happening in Charleston. We walked to many great restaurants and shops.
We loved The Restoration on King. The hotel rooms are former condos. Ours was beautiful and included a beautiful bedroom, huge shower, large living room and full kitchen. We can't wait to return.

An apartment in the middle of prime area

Posted Jun 6, 2014
Very nice, nearly new. Location is walkable to most of prime Charleston, especially shopping. Staff is attentive, but not the services of a larger hotel. Breakfast basket is a great touch, pastries should be special given the local bakeries, but are very ordinary. Little things could make this a legit five star- make sure sinks aren't clogged, stock with more and better towels and robes, up the breakfast a touch from local sources, etc... Easy choices.

Elegant and comfortable

Loved this hotel! More like a condo or apartment. Nightly turn down service, evening wine and cheese, or later in the evening cookies and milk. Complimentary European style continental breakfast delivered to your room in the cutest basket I have ever seen. Truly a hotel to remember.

Restoration on King ----location and gym

Posted Jun 5, 2014
Aside from the informal full service atmosphere, which I'm sure all others have noted, one important feature of the hotel is its location. In short ---- perfect. It is right in the middle of town with an easy walk anywhere. In addition the free Green Line trolly stops right by the hotel on the SW corner of Wentworth and King. They are building an additional 35 rooms at the hotel which I hope won't detract from the intimate atmosphere. A word about the exercise facility. If you want a spa don't come here. If you want a full gym with 10 running machines and a variety of equipment it's all you need.. They have an arrangement with the Echo fitness center which is a quarter of a block away. Nothing fancy --- it's a gym not a spa but you can do your workout and walk back to your room at the hotel for a shower. We'd stay here again if we returned to Charleston.

Incredible Boutique Hotel

Posted Jun 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
The Hotel was incredible, great historic elements with two period Houses from 184 and 1910 joined. The had every modern amenity for a full Condo or Apartment with beautiful appointments and decor. Location was amazing and lots of Hotel activities some on the amazing roof deck. Room was spacious and there was everything one could want. Staff was exceptional and left us wanting for nothing, they took care of everything and there was no task to menial or large for them to perform. The GM, Howard was unbelievably helpful and you could see the effort amongst the team in taking care of every little detail. I will definitely come back here.

Fabulous gem in Charleston.

Posted May 31, 2014
Pros: Everything
Cons: Can't think of a thing.
Location: Lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance.
Wow, this boutique hotel exceeded my expectations. From the moment we check in to the moment we checked out, the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. What a pleasant surprise when we opened the door to our suite and realized that our "room" was a very nicely appointed apartment. From the exposed brick on the walls, the high ceilings, well appointed kitchen (with full sized refrigerator- which was stocked with sodas and water, dishwasher and oven), very comfortable living room (with large windows to enjoy the city), ample bathroom and king sized bedroom - oh and let me not forget to mention the included lovely picnic basket breakfast delivered to your suite each morning... our stay couldn't have been better. The hotel is within walking distance to all there is to see and do in Charleston. We only took it out our car to go to Magnolia Plantation (which I would recommend). Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a unique/high end experience in Charleston.
