Great location in historic CharlestonPosted Sep 3, 2013
Pros: Roomy, clean, Terrific location on King Street
Cons: There was only one shower. I would have preferred 2 full baths instead of 1 1/2 Kitchen was not well stocked.
This is a prime location for walking around in downtown Charleston. I think the condo is ideal if you are staying with a family. There is a pretty nice kitchen with granite counters and Kitchen Aid appliances. We went with our 2 kids and parents. Kids slept on sofa bed,

Great LocationPosted Aug 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
Unit 303 was not very clean. When you walk in the door the first thing that catches your eye is that the walls need painting. The floor in the kitchen had dried food on the floor. We took a damp towel and cleaned the kitchen and living room. The towel was dark brown. My white socks were brown to from walking in the bedroom and bathroom upstairs. The overall appearance was great. The location was excellent. The furniture in the living room was completely worn out. The mattress on the bed was lumpy and worn out as well. My back stills hurts from sleeping three days on it. Just a few things that need attention to make it a top notch experience. The other units may be fine, but this one needs attention.

We loved the stay at Society House. It would be good to know there are stairs up to the rooms and no elevator that we could find. Not a problem for us but could be for others. Awesome location!

good place to stayPosted Jul 25, 2013 on Hotels.com
It was a great place to stay. Having a full kitchen was nice and I would love to go back and stay for a full week sometime. The only issue was the noise in the mornings. So if you like to sleep in, this is not the place to do it.

Great space and location!Posted Jun 13, 2013 on Hotels.com
We had 3 units for a quick family trip to Charleston after a wedding on the coast. The kitchens we beautiful and well equipped, the beds comfy and the units were clean and cheery. There was some mold in the shower area and it seemed that the ceiling had experienced recent water damage in our unit and light fixtures, fans and sprinklers had not yet been fully installed. As other reviewers mentioned, the stairs were steep and you could hear some street noise - but the wonderful location was well worth the trade off. We did notice that the sofas and walls were stained and scraped - but sadly, that is probably due to inconsiderate guests rather than poor cleaning and maintenance. Unfortunately, service was poor - we called during business hours to request assistance with the washing machine and internet access, and never received a call back. Also, being from out of town, we were not notified that King is closed and Society is inaccessable on the second Sunday of every month, so check -in was a nightmare. So, as long as you don't expect "hotel-like" service, its a great value.

Nice condoPosted Jun 8, 2013
This worked out well for our needs, which was to have separate bedrooms, and an extra half bath. It's a 5 minute walk to the areas we ate in and the walk is safe and pleasant. The beds are not the most comfortable, but I also sleep on a temperpedic at home and nothing compares to those. Remember this is not a hotel, so it's not full service, but the staff is helpful. Would stay again.

Very attractive suite in great location, but...Posted May 9, 2013
Pros: Location and location and location.
Cons: Detailed check-in directions before arrival.
Location: Shops and eateries, City Market, College of Charleston, tours and more.
1st challenge is to actually find the place (there is no lobby + the small entrance doors - 1 on King + 1 on Society--are easy to miss). 2nd challenge is to gain access to your room. If you book through a third party, you are left without a clue. You need to call the phone number on your confirmation sheet. They answered and e-mailed our assigned room and the combination for the lockbox to that room. Don't ask me what you do if you don't have your smartphone handy. Things got better after getting into the room. It was a bright, spacious (probably close to 500 sf) 1-bedroom looking overlooking a very vibrant section of King Street. However the buildout is a bit awkward, with the very large island of the open kitchen crowding out any comfortable functionality of the living room area--including comfortably watching TV. The double bed was much better to look at than sleep on--too soft and you just roll to the middle. The location was excellent, within easy walking distance to all of the great places in the historic district. Bring ear plugs if you want to drown out noise between midnight and 2:30, when folks leave the watering holes on King.

Great location but...Posted Apr 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
The apartment was very clean, well equipped and very well located in the centre of Charleston. However there was very little sound insulation and we were there during prom season. It is also on the main street. We had revellers keeping us awake until 3.30am. Very good restaurant nearby called "Sermets".
