Great location, excellent staffPosted Oct 11, 2014
Perfect spot, close to waterfront and market. Friendly staff, who were terrific in offering assistance at every opportunity. Roof top bar was very nice too. Valet parking is a must! The hotel rooms are on both sides of the street, which was a little confusing at first. We were in the older, non renovated building, and our bathroom could have used some updating but very comfy room.

Very Electic and Charming Hotel!Posted Oct 7, 2014
Pros: Ambience and location!
Cons: Maybe alert people staying in a room beneath the roof top bar that it can get noisy due to hardwood floors.
Location: great restaurants.....city market....King Street for shopping....house tours....many many art galleries....just the perfect location all round!
My husband and I just spent four days in Charleston for the first time. We absolutely loved the Vendue. It is modern yet has the old charm of Charleston. The staff is very very friendly....remembered our names....went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and memorable. The rooftop bar has an amazing view and the food very good as well. Our first room was on the 3rd floor beneath the bar....we asked if we could possibly move as it was noisey and we don't tend to stay up late. They immediately moved us to a lower floor within 15 minutes!! Starbucks on the first floor....beautiful art work throughout...and a FANTASTIC LOCATION!!!!! The hotel called us a week prior to our stay and suggested dinner reservations be made as Charleston is busy year round. I am so happy that they did this, as we would've been without reservations and having to wait. ALL the restaurants are fantastic....and the Vendue is located literally within minutes of the finest food!!!!

Lovely hotel in a prime locationPosted Sep 28, 2014
Pros: We loved everything except the noise during two nights of our four-night stay. We will return, but we will be more specific about our room choice.
Location: Right in the heart of the historic district, near Broad Street and close to many of the best restaurants, sites, and galleries.
Overall, very good experience. Lovely hotel in an excellent location. Only downside was the noise for two nights of our stay. One night we were kept awake for hours by obviously drunk guests yelling to each up and down the hallway outside our room. The next night, we were kept awake for nearly two hours by what sounded like someone walking in stilettos on the ceiling above us (apparently this noise came from the rooftop bar).

Great location, nice amenitiesPosted Sep 1, 2014
Pros: Location, uniqueness.
Location: See above.
The Vendue is in walking distance to many sites (harbor, market, historic sites/churches, carriage rides, etc) and popular restaurants. Staff very helpful. Free wine & snacks each day at 4:00. Buildings are originally old warehouses converted to hotel. Many rooms have the original brick walls and other remnants of its warehouse days. Variety of rooms (most all different), and I think prices vary quite a bit. But still have all the amenities & convenience regardless of room chosen. Parking is somewhat expensive in area----$16/day in public garage. Hotel restaurants highly rated and rooftop bar is nice for relaxing drinks and view of bay and city.
