Great trip. Hotel was crowded, but never seemed that way. Had everything we wanted, but didn't seem too formal.

Right on the beach!Posted Jul 10, 2014
Pros: We liked having the balcony.
Location: Our favorite spot was the crepe truck. So close to grab breakfast and bring it back to the room.
We enjoyed our 5th floor room on the beach. The view was great! The beach was huge and not crowded.

Wonderful, pet friendly hotel!Posted Jun 26, 2014
Pros: Pet friendly. Staff seemed to really like our dog. Ocean front rooms are wonderful.
Location: Great location on the beach. Fishing pier with very reasonable fees. Locklears Seafood Restaurant (located on the pier) is very good!
My daughter, my dog, and I enjoyed our stay at the Tides. Staff and room were great. My only problem was that we couldn't stay longer. My daughter had to go back to work.

Not worth the $350 a night we paid. Felt like we were at a spring break hotel. Horrible food. Horrible parking.

Don't stay here...Posted Jun 19, 2014
Staffs were unprofessional and rude. The room/hallway/stairs are dirty and smelled horrible. We felt as if we stayed at an hourly rate motel the whole time. PLEASE do yourself and your family a favor and stay away from this place. We will visit Charleston again in the future but will NEVER stay at TIDES again.

nice hotel with a pool overlooking the beachPosted Jun 12, 2014
Pros: the pool and beach front view.
Cons: the staff of the restaurant connected to the hotel does not keep the breakfast buffet replenished without asking and the food was cold.
Location: great location with a strip of restaurants and shops to visit in walking distance

We were on the 8th floor and the view was astounding. Great dining very close to the hotel, wonderful sunset view on the door side of your room from the balcony. Overall, awesome place to stay.

favorite Beach Hotel on Folly Beach SCPosted Jun 6, 2014
Pros: Staff was overall terrific. Great location and Restaurant. Highly recommend.
Cons: Location of commode could be over a little away from the sink in handicapped accessible area.
Location: Swimming, sunbathing, fishing pier, shops, restaurants.
Great Experience nicest beach hotel I have stayed at. Nice and incredible location needs some maintenance though. Bathroom vents were non existent or disabled. Also needed new weather stripping and caulking. Staff was very helpful and restaurant well priced for a hotel on the beach. It disturbed me though that the staff person at the front desk told me where the restroom was on the first floor when it was closed for repairs. Also the rooms were nice and cozy but the beds though luxurious by beach standards were hot for me due to the foam mattress. Also on one of the two bedrooms the one that was handicapped friendly there was a lot of room in the bathroom yet the commode was so near the sink it seemed strange.

Lucky to be the only hotel on Folly BeachPosted Jun 3, 2014
Pros: Great location
Cons: The front desk staff is horrible. They do not follow up with their guests, do not address issues with the management, and simply do not seem to care.
Location: The hotel is located right on the beach. Restaurants, shops, etc. are all in walking distance.
Our experience at the Tides Hotel went from good to bad as our trip progressed. First we were told to go out and buy towels because there would never be enough at the pool. Then housekeeping never came to our room. We complained to the front desk and were told that someone would be there in a few minutes. 90 minutes later we had to go back to the front desk because we were still being ignored. Lastly, we received a message in NJ upon our arrival home indicating that our dog was making too much noise. First of all, calling NJ wouldn't have solved the problem and more important, we didn't even bring our dog with us.

Great hotel on a wonderful beach!!Posted Jun 2, 2014
Pros: Our kids loved the pool on the beach!
Cons: more racks to hang wet towels and swimsuits
Location: lovely little beach town near Charleston!
We loved our stay! Would definitely come back! They forgot to clean our room one day and had to come back but it was exceptionally clean with a beautiful view!
