We love the WentworthPosted Dec 22, 2011
Pros: The people who work there understand that you want that pampered service feeling, and they provide it.
Cons: The in-room safe battery died. The staff fixed it for us.
Location: Charleston is beaultiful and Wentworth is walking distance from King Street where the action is!
We stayed at the Wentworth Mansion for two nights and three days. We enjoyed a delicious gourmet snack in the evening with some nice wine compliments of the house. We loved the architecture and took pictures from the roof cupola. Our room in the East Wing was private and beautiful. We received lovely chocolates from maintenance, and the bellman Jared carried our bags in and out of the mansion with true Marine Semper Fi spirit. The concierge desk manned by Mark and later Christian was responsive and always very helpful and polite. Breakfast at Circa 1886 was brilliant. Don't miss the grits! Betty had us giggling in the morning with her perky delivery of sweet rolls. We felt like millionaires this week at the Wentworth. You will too. Live large and enjoy your stay!

Truly UnblievablePosted Nov 1, 2011 on Hotels.com
By far the best hotel we have ever stayed at..and we have stayed at some beautiful hotels. We stayed in the Mansion room. The staff is fantastic, the breakfast could have been a bit better, but by any means should it deter you from staying here!!! Truly unbelievable place.

Wentworth Mansion in Charleston, SCPosted Aug 4, 2011 on Hotels.com
If you ever wanted to see what it was like to live in the Guilded Age, then visiting Wentworth Mansion is a must! To see all the original Tiffany Glass art work is worth the trip! The staff was excellent and gave great attention to each and every guest. The experience was exceptional. The large marble jetted tub with complimentary bath salts, spa quality robe and complimentary inroom beverages gave me the "spa " experience without ever leaving the privacy of my room. But the best part of my stay was climbing the spiral staircase to the roof for a 360 degree breathtaking view of Charleston. Only a few hotels in Charleston have a rooftop access, but none tall enough to see all the steeples, bridges, and waterways. Can't wait to return!! Once you experience the Wentwort Mansion, it will be difficult to fine this type of the luxury elsewhere.

well worth the expensePosted Jul 12, 2011
Fabulous small hotel in a mansion. Expensive but well worth it. Room was pleasant and luxurious, with a large bath and a reading room/sun room. Service was great all around. Daily breakfast was excellent and plentiful, with fresh pastries, fresh juice and a choice of several well prepared breakfast plates. Would return without question. I can think of only two issues. Most important, the location is a few extra blocks away from the main commercial area. This is not necessarily bad, as it is still well within walking distance, but the sidewalks between the hotel and Meeting/Kings street are not well maintained, making walking in heels somewhat hazardous. Not the hotel fault but could be an issue for some. The other thing that could be improved is the hotel collection of DVDs. Most people will not care, but there's no reason that it should be so small.

30th AnniversaryPosted Jun 27, 2011
The staff at the Wentworth made us feel right at home from the moment we pulled into the parking lot, until the moment we pulled out. Just an amazing atmosphere! We went there for our 30th wedding anniversary and the staff just did all the little things that made our time there a memory we will never forget. I would HIGHLY recommend the Wentworth for anyone going to Charleston for a special occasion or just for a get away! We will definitely be return guests next time we are in town!

AMAZING!!!!!Posted Jun 20, 2011 on Hotels.com
This is the best hotel I have EVER stayed at. All the things normal hotels gouge you for, Parking, WiFi, Beverages etc is all included. Not to mention the AMAZING breakfast with Ms. Betty and those pecan rolls, and complimentary appetizers and port! I can't say enough good things about this hotel. The rooms are incredible. I just wish there was a Wentworth Mansion in Oregon!

I hope you have a chance to visit this unusual Bed and Breakfast. It's worth the trip.Posted Jun 18, 2011
Outstanding service from warm and friendly staff.Very helpful consierge, great breakfast (with a delightful singing service-lady!!) If you like the old world flavor, with an elevator that has to think about it before it will move, but always gets you to your floor, you won't miss modern chrome and glass at all. You'll never sleep in a more comfortable bed, but we got a bit chilly during the night and had to solve the problem by pulling up the marvelous European-style comforter. Wonderful! Yes...all the furniture, carpeting, etc was older than we are, but it worked together to generate a peaceful ambience that just grew on us during our three day stay. Would we go back? In a heartbeat. We already miss it.

Wentworth Mansion - Extraordinary IndulgencePosted May 22, 2011 on Hotels.com
The Wentworth Mansion met and exceeded all of our expectations! Service was impeccable without being stuffy or over-bearing. Rooms (and the entire hotel) were beautiful. The staff was thoroughly knowledgeable about the inn as well as the surrounding area, i.e. what to see, where to eat, etc. Grounds are beautiful and the restaurant excellent. The inn is pet friendly. Wine and appetizers in the afternoon gave us a chance to meet other travellers. Would highly recommend a visit if you are looking to be pampered and indulged. Will go back again.
