Pros: The pool and hot tub.
Cons: Sound proof the walls!
Location: If your a race car fan.... it's the place to go.
Too NOISEY! The ice machine could be heard all night long! People in the hall could be heard walking.

Nice hotel within walking distance of Time WarnerPosted Feb 16, 2014
Pros: The staff is awesome! From check-in to any little problem! Really top shelf people!
Cons: Make the rooms a little bigger but that's a major renovation.
Great location for a basketball game. Other cool restaurants nearby. Also if you have kids just walk 2 blocks to The Discovery Place. My three loved it...didn't want to leave! Our room was a little small for 3 children ages 10, 12 and 13. The walk through between the beds and TV is a bit tight. Two adults would be able to manage. Just remember, it's a Marriott and the standards are very high. I will definatly return to this hotel...even with the kids!

Great hotelPosted Feb 10, 2014
This hotel is very clean and the staff is extremely nice. The beds feel like clouds. We were close to all the bars and restaurants so it was perfect.

Nice stay. Small room.Posted Feb 8, 2014
My sister in law and I and our children headed out for a visit to Charlotte. The room was a little small for two adults and two teens. However it was very clean. I found out after arriving at the hotel that queen size beds are not available due to the downtown location. Very accessible to major venues which was a plus. Most in walking distance. My sister in law arrived first and was greatly accommodated by hotel staff. Her interaction with one staffer at the Champion bar was not a good look but was promptly corrected by the hotel manager. I must give kudos to the breakfast lounge cooks, particularly a very nice woman I believe to be named Rosemary. She impressed not only my sister in law but my son and nephew as well. She was very kind and warm. She also I offered ideas for things to do with the kids. The boys loved her as did I and my sister in law. They raved so much about her omelets that we were sure to visit with her again the next day. These were not our original plans. All the food choices at the breakfast buffet, to include the waffles/pancakes (light, fluffy, and delicious) were enjoyed by all. Very fresh ingredients and I believed purchased from local farmers. Overall it was a great stay and enjoyed by all. Great staff. Job well done.

Nice hotel close to entertainmentPosted Feb 4, 2014
I thought the hotel was lovely. Room smelled a bit like dirty socks upon first entry though. As far as staff goes a few seemed to be a little bit rude I think because I look young for my age and they must have thought I was about 18 and shouldn't be there alone.

Everything was Excellent except...Posted Jan 28, 2014
Pros: Beautiful, well kept Hotel. Very helpful and efficient staff.
Cons: The Only thing that could be improved in my opinion is having a designated Hostess in the restaurant for breakfast to greet and help guest.
Location: Location is fantastic! We walked to the Universal Spirit of Hope Cheer Competition and to dinner both nights. It is super convenient to everything!
The Hotel itself, the cleanliness, and the staff as a whole I gave a 4 instead of a 5 because of the simple fact that there was No One to Hostess the restaurant in the morning for breakfast? That is the start of your day...very crucial to have someone there to greet your guests as they enter for breakfast and take their names if there is a wait for seating. We were all just standing there in line looking at each other asking, what do we do? It did happen both mornings that way unfortunately, but at least on the second morning, I knew to keep standing there until someone appeared to take my name so I could go sit and enjoy their spacious and comfy lobby area and wait for my families name to be called. The Breakfast is Super delicious! The made to order omelettes were Fantastic, and the clean breakfast buffet had Everything you could want for breakfast. And the wait staff were super friendly and very prompt and efficient. Great Job Marriott! You never disappoint! I have to also tell you that the bellman was very helpful as well! We were there for a Cheer Competition and he got us mapped out directions to where we needed to be in the morning as well as where we were meeting other families and cheerleaders for dinner that night while we checked in the hotel for our stay. We had a great stay with Marriott City Center in Charlotte and would highly recommend this hotel!

Great choice for Downtown CharlottePosted Jan 26, 2014
Great location, close to everything. And considerably quiet, considering all the late night activity on the weekend that I visited. Very friendly hotel staff, and easy parking. Would definitely choose this hotel again! Close, but not Too Close to the epicenter!

For a Panther's playoff game that didn't happenPosted Jan 22, 2014
Pros: rooms, location, adjoining restaurants
Cons: website - terrible
Location: lots of restaurants and bars, basketball/hockey stadium and Panther's stadium
The hotel is beautiful and in a great location, clean, modern, nice rooms. We don't usually pay this much, but the website said hot breakfast was included and had good reviews, so we went for it. It was an overall good experience except for having to pay for internet (when the room is over two-hundred, this should be complimentary. The breakfast thing was what really disappointed us...We went downstairs Sunday morning and followed a girl and her father into the room where the food was and through the buffet line. After we got our food, we waited by the sign that said please wait to be seated...We should have realized this earlier, but this was NOT the complimentary breakfast...it was a moderately high priced buffet. The staff did seat us and served us coffee (brought a pot to the table), and we had our nearly forty dollar meal. We went by the front desk to inquire about the breakfast I had read about on the website, we were told we didn't sign up for that package..."sorry". Which was fine, my mistake, I figured I had misread. Monday morning we discovered a little suite on our floor that DID have complimentary breakfast! This was great, but I wish the kid at the front desk had said something so I didn't feel like such an idiot. I am in the customer service business and always try to say "yes" to customers, if we can't do something one way, we will try to accommodate another. So, "there's a suite on your floor that has breakfast" would have been a better answer.
