Nice, Fresh Hotel

Posted Jul 14, 2014
The hotel was very fresh, clean, and pleasant. The staff was friendly and helpful. After spending the day in Charlotte, re entry into the hotel was a little awkward because there is no left turn into the parking lot from Independence Blvd., which is a street with a median. One has to drive past the hotel and make a u-turn.

Great - Overall

Posted Apr 28, 2014
Came to town for out-patient procedure. Stayed one night. Overwhelmed by the cleanliness and consideration given for an early check-in. Would not have imagined that this hotel off Independence Blvd would have been so clean, but it was! Have traveled all over country/world and it was more than comparable. Odd, but true. A little difficult to get to if coming from Charlotte/Matthews. Take a left at light with Bojangles/Wendy's (I think it was Matthews Mint Hill Road?) and then your first right onto Moore Street, which will take you to the back of the property. Very easy.

Very pleasant Stay - Easy to Get to

Posted Mar 28, 2014
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Fix the jetted tub
Very convenient to get off and on the freeway. Very clean with a great breakfast. I happen to get a room with a jetted tub - which really didn't work well and the grout around it was crumbling.

great staff

Posted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: Very clean, great breakfast, staff was topnotch.
Cons: Nothing to change, unless this place / staff can be moved up north.
Location: Stopped on way home to go to Bobcats game - 15 minutes away from the arena
Southern hospitality at its best - welcoming and helpful, we were continually impressed by all members of the staff. Well done.

Great hotel near Charlotte, NC.

Posted Mar 17, 2014
Pros: Hotel staff, cleanliness of room.
Cons: Instituting a complimentary breakfast buffet.
Location: All points of interest in and around Charlotte, NC, southern NC, and northern SC.
I was impressed by the hotel managers for the Courtyard Marriott in Matthews, NC. They went far above and beyond what was required of them to make our stay as minimally stressed as possible. For example, multiple individuals from different states came together during our stay. The night manager, Dominic, was kind enough to direct the individuals to venues we went to after checking in and made sure that they had the appropriate directions to the venues. And to answer the obvious question, they met us at the venue in the minimal amount of time, even for directionally challenged individuals. One of the individuals had to leave earlier than the prepaid stay time. The day Manager, Derrek, helped us through the process to have the charges for the unused room recovered from Expedia. Not many hotel managers that I know of would go out of their way to do such a thing for their guests.
