If you need a place to crash, it isn’t a bad stay. The desk in the room is off and inconvenient.. the bar is limited and pricey, the menu is also limited (served me an undercooked chicken sandwich that had me barking all night into the toilet), it’s down in Matthews and not overly convenient to uptown. Everyone is nice and all.. but.. for the money.. you can do far better.

The staff at the hotel was exceptional. On our first night the power was out for approx 5 hours. We were at the bar having dinner when it happened. One light shone down on the bar. Monique was our bartender and did an excellent job of interacting with the 7 of us seated there. We were all of different ethnicities and walks of life. She led us in many conversations about life, caring for each other and the state of our world. It was a wonderful example of humanity at its best.

Nice hotel with great amenities. Clean and housekeeping knocked daily for anything we might need. The staff was always nice and greeted everyone with a smile. Location was great for a weekend football tournament at the local Sportsplex.

Hotel had a very unpleasant smell in the main hall and the room wasn't very clean (had a large chunk of fingernail on the bathroom counter - ugh). Overall, the facility is worn and a little dingy. On the plus side, all of the employees we encountered were great and went out of their way to be friendly.

A few fixes and it’s perfect.
The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The overall state of the hotel is good. The rooms was perfect. And it is very convenient to many things! During our stay they were out of some staples in the restaurant. We were on the first floor and had to walk by the fitness center. The odor was strong and the hallway smelled like a house school locker room after a football game.

This wasn't a great experience.
Was dissatisfied with TV channels, only choices were sports channels, no movie, local news or HBO even. No coffee available in the lobby, unless you buy it from bistro?! At $125 + a night, there should be complimentary coffee in the lounge during morning hours.

I'm sorry to hear that you were not satisfied with the channels in the rooms. There are multiple guide channels so you just have to go to the higher numbers for local and movie channels. We offer complimentary coffee in your room as we have a restaurant in our lobby.

I definitely will be staying here when I travel each month to Matthews. The staff was great from the warm smiles, to giving us recommendations on food and directions to where I needed to go.

The lady who checked me in was on her phone the whole time it took her 15mins to get me situated and I had a reservation already paid in full. My tv had no remote and she told me she didn’t have one to give me. Then I realized she put me in a handicapped room and the shower made a mess she said she didn’t realize it but she could switch me. She just had terrible customer skills. The room however was very clean

Room and bathroom are very nice and specious. Some unknown young peoples were in the parking lot away from the entrance for so long with their car doors open and looking sitting in and walking
