Nice, Clean & Close to EVERYTHING

Posted May 26, 2015
Pros: The proximity to everything was amazing. Also, very clean and well kept!
Cons: Definitely needs a refrigerator in each room.
Location: We went to the Eipcenter for dining, nightlife and to see a movie. Also, the little local hole-in-the-wall places (that we love) were nearby.
My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Hilton City Center in downtown Charlotte. The hotel is close to everything: the Epicenter, restaurants, bars, museums, the highway, ect. The only downfall for us was the lack of a refrigerator in our room. Since we were from out of town and we were staying on a holiday weekend, we were looking for ways to cut corners on spending. Since 99% of hotels/motels have refrigerators in room, we stocked up on some goodies (fruit, beer, soda, ect.) beforehand, only to realize we were without a refrigerator to keep everything cold during our stay. I was also disappointed because we couldn't take our delicious leftovers back to the hotel as there was no way of keeping them cold. For the PRICE we paid to stay downtown, I thought there should be one in each room.

Still holding onto credit card

Posted May 18, 2015
Pros: Location, condition
Cons: At the price, internet should be included in the room rate
Location: Close to the EpiCentre and Discovery.
Hotel is fine and perfectly located. Check in was easy and fast. The room was modern and clean. So far, so good. Room service is extortionate. With sales tax and service tax coming in at 27% and a $3 delivery charge on top, make sure you're ordering more than a $20 plate. Also, internet access is $9.95 per day. I used the internet over two days, so a $19.90 bill. Eight days on, they've still to process the $150 they pre-approved on the credit card and return the remaining $130 to my account. Leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Great central location.

Posted May 12, 2015
Pros: Location.
Location: Went to several museums and galleries and walked throughout Center City.
Staying in Charlotte for the first time we wanted something central to the city. The Hilton couldn't have been better located, had good parking at a reasonable rate, good facilities (ie use of the YMCA) and a clean, quiet, well appointed room. We will stay there again next time we visit.

Good location, but noisy - bring earplugs!

Posted May 12, 2015
Pros: the bed was comfortable and clean
Cons: the doors are too loud when they shut - all night long the Prommies and even older guests were slamming those heavy doors!
Location: We walked to breakfast at Hazelnut's and had crepes which was nice.
I loved the room and the bed. It was fine. There wasn't a fridge, which would have been nice. The shower was weak and had little water pressure, but it was fairly clean - only found one hair in the shower. ;)

Pros: The center city feel.
Cons: Include parking... And breakfast.
Location: Plenty to do nearby and some great restaurants within walking distance.
Good hotel overall. Very clean and comfortable. The parking garage was a little tight getting in and out, but not too bad for middle of city. However, its $18 PER DAY to park, which should be included. Also, the breakfast was great, but also not included. I stay within the Hilton profile a lot and although the hotel was up to par, they charge extra for EVERYTHING, which partially defeats the purpose for staying at a nicer hotel in the first place. My advice is to find an Expedia package which includes the parking and breakfast if you want to stay at this hotel.
