family getaway

Posted May 27, 2015
Pros: everything
Cons: not the hotel but the surrounding area just not enough restaurants close by to chose from
My family and I went to Carowinds for the first time. My stay here was excellent from beginning to end. From the moment we checked in until we checked out. The staff was very polite and made us feel welcome. Room was clean. Breakfast was great. We will be staying here again

I don't see how this could be any better

Posted May 18, 2015
Pros: Clean, well maintained, friendly staff, good breakfast, comfy bed, quiet for an airport location.
Cons: Parking
Location: N/A
Except for parking, I would rate this hotel 5*. There isn't enough parking, but everything else was great!

Pleasantly Pleased

Posted Apr 14, 2015
Pros: Staff was friendly and courteous. Room was comfortable and clean. The area was safe and quiet.
Cons: More kitchen staff on weekends. It was so hard for that sweet lady to keep up with the demands of all those people by herself.
Location: Plenty of places to eat down the road and within 3 miles of the hotel and the shuttle can carry you there ... Gold Star!!
As with any hotel stay, I worry about what I am going to walk in to and it turned out I had very little to worry about. Overall, it was a pleasant experience. The area was quiet and safe. The hotel was nice and clean. The front desk staff member was prompt and friendly for my check-in. She was also very helpful in giving us a list of places to eat after our long drive in. The only two problems I had which cannot be controlled by the hotel itself - the airplane traffic (I have supersonic hearing, but was still able to rest and relax) and other guests ... everyone does not know how to behave when traveling. Our room was close to the elevator and loud/rude people came through a few times. The main problem was that it was after midnight :-( and my kids were asleep and all I wanted was to keep them that way. Oh, the other thing that could have been better was the fact that they had one kitchen staff (or so it seemed) working a Saturday breakfast. This was less than ideal for the volume of people out there. Everything was running out faster than it could be replaced and because she was the only one seen, there was a lot of waiting just to eat. It took my family an hour and a half to eat the little we was able to obtain because of the waiting. Needless to say, we went elsewhere the next day.

construction zone

Posted Feb 18, 2015 on Hotels.com
The entire hotel is under construction. There is dusk and construction workers everywhere. The front entrance and most halls are close. During this type of construction, the entire hotel should be close down. Not the Valentines Day we were looking forward to.

Great hotel near the airport and the city

Posted Jan 22, 2015
Pros: It is being renovated so the upgrades weren't obvious yet. The staff were very friendly and treated us like family (the ones you like).
Cons: The only thing we missed was a dish scrubber for cleaning up plates and pots. They did have a dish rag which was adequate.
Location: Near Charlotte and the airport.
The kitchen suite was roomy and inviting. Heating and cooling was quiet and accurate. The kitchen was nice with a two burner stove top, full size refrigerator and dishwasher. It even had a toaster and full size microwave. There was a two person breakfast bar where you can also use a laptop computer. An overall very nice experience. We brought our own food so the kitchen suite was perfect. There were also stainless steel cooking pans and pots. It was a well fitted out room. The LCD TV was new and large in the living room and in the bedroom. A great experience and a reasonable price.

OK stay. Will be back.

Very nice people in the front desk and in general and even with the ongoing renovations, we had no issues with noise or dust. The place was very nice and with the standard hotel brand amenities. The only issue was that one night they cleaning ladies didn't clean the room at all and by consequence it was dirty all over when we returned late that night. We complained and someone apologized, brought towels, and other necessary stuff. They promised a rebate in our final night (need to check if this was done because we have already paid). Besides that only issue, all was good.
