Terrible experience

When we arrived at the airport exhausted, we called La Quinta to request a shuttle. They did not answer. We called again and again to request the shuttle and still no answer. We then spoke to information at the airport to ask for help and they said to just wait outside for the shuttle. After continuing to call and wait for over 1 1/2 hours we eventually resorted to taking a taxi to the hotel. When we arrived, the person at the front desk informed us that their phones were not working and the employee who drives the shuttle was off for a family emergency. We were told that they would reimburse us for the taxi IF we had a receipt(which we did not have). The main reason we booked this hotel is for the shuttle service. There was no service and it was completely unacceptable. In addition, we asked for a wake up call. It was not received. When I told them that we did not receive the call, the only comment was that the phones were not working. It seems to me that if things were not working at the hotel then the staff should have taken some initiative to find a solution to the problem.

OK as budget hotel

This hotel may be OK for very budget conscious travelers. The room didn't seem to be very clean. The carpets looked run down. Think adding a refrigerator in the room was not an option. Good thing was breakfast was included however, was very basic.

The driver for the shuttle from Charlotte was unfriendly and rude. The hotel staff were fine. The room had chipped paint all over the walls, the a.c. was not working right. 3 calls to try to get it fixed. By this time it was midnight. They, instead of relocating us, sent a technician up. Got it working for30 minutes then stopped again. I gave up by then. The bed frame was larger then the bed and stuck out 3 inches and I stubbed my toe. Just overall bad. Breakfast was very sparse.

Nice hotel and park and fly was good

Nice option for hotel stay near airport. pool area and breakfast were great. Room was nice although our air conditioning didn't work and we discovered this late after returning from dinner so it was too late to change rooms or ask for maintenance since we have two young kids that needed to get to sleep. Woke up and the room was 80 degrees. The park and fly option was nice but you have to pay extra. Would return but will make sure that air conditioning is working.

Convenient location

Front desk staff was helpful when I asked for directions to attractions. Breakfast lady should be recognized for her effort in maintaining food area and doing her job without complaining. (I say this because we've been to other hotels where it was obvious the staff in charge of breakfast were perturbed.) Although I declined housekeeping service I exchanged the used towels for clean and requested toiletries each morning during our stay from the polite hard working housekeeper on the third floor. The pool was nice and breakfast area was comfortable.

Close to Carowinds

Location: Close to Carowinds, only one good restaurant close
We used this motel for a 3 day trip to Carowinds. It was very close, nice hotel but one ice machine for 4 floors was a pain. It was on first floor behind registration desk, had to wait in line sometimes. When the room was cleaned after one night, no wash cloths only one bath towel and no floor mat was left. Went to desk and received replacements, not what you pay $100.00 a night for . We stay again, only hope for improvement.

Das Hotel ist direkt am Schnittpunkt zweier Hauptverkehrsstraßen gelegen. Es ist insbesondere frühmorgens einfach zu laut. Quantität und Qualität des sog. Frühstücks schwankten extrem je nach zuständiger Crew.
