“chose this hotel because of city center location. thought it fit the bill!”

would have liked a bit more information about the extra services (laundry, for example) and food venues in the hotel, but everything else was very nice. Rooms clean and Maid service very attentive to requests, including day of checkout. would liked to have had a listing of "close by" restaurants - had to go thru 3 brochures, lists, books to find what we wanted.

“Great bed!”

Lovely hotel, courteous and helpful staff, LOVED our bed! Only complaint I have is unless you are familiar with downtown Charlotte, you will drive right past the hotel. It isn't identified very well. We did experience "night life" noise from a club nearby and we were on the 14th floor. Maybe a white noise machine would have helped! Overall, great place to stay.

“Nice but pricey”

A nice place for downtown Charlotte close to many cultural centers and dining choices. I do take issue with being charged to park my own car. If you opt for the room and breakfast deal , get the custom made omelets! Cutty's Cigar Bar is one of my favorite places in Charlotte and one major reason I stay at the Marriott. Great staff, great surroundings.

“Nice loacaion in Dowtown Charlotte”

Friendly staff, hotel within walking distance of many things in downtown Charlotte. The Breakfast Buffet was also very good. Would stay here again.

“Where's my OJ?”

The concierge people were really pushy. I don't like to pull up in front of a hotel and have someone standing right outside my driver's side door eagerly awaiting me to step out of my car. I also don't like to have valet service pushed on me - I prefer to park my own car. I ordered breakfast in my room and it showed up without the OJ nor the to go cup I ordered. The parking garage had several compact car only spots, most of which were filled with SUVs and pickup trucks, spilling over into adjacent spots, cutting down on the availability of usable parking spots. The hotel is right downtown, and my room faced the street with a lot of clubs on it. It was VERY loud well into the night. They need to have better soundproofing!

“Can't Go Wrong Here”

The hotel was in a great location and very easy to access. Lots of eating places in the area. The service was great and the room was clean. I would definitely stay here again.

Getting around

Very easy to get around downtown. No need for a rental car if you are going to remain in the area. There are also trains and trolleys. Although I didn't, I believe you can take a train from the airport.

“Good Hotel”

The hotel staff members were very pleasant, understanding and helpful. The first room had an odd smell when I first walked in. The bed was very comfortable with fluffy pillows. The shower head was nice and full. The closets were big with lots of real hangers--not the kind you have to fit into tiny holes. Unfortunately, we didn't get much sleep the first night because of young adults making noise in the halls between 2 am and 3 am. There were weddings and graduations in the downtown area. We asked for another room on another floor, and we got a good night's sleep the second night. The second room smelled great. Breakfast downstairs was very delicious and reasonable. Again, the staff members in the restaurant provided excellent service. I used the gym which had plug-ins for a headset on the treadmills and nice amenities. I would definitely go back. The location is convenient.

Area recommendations

We attended the National Flute Convention so we didn't see much of the city, just the downtown area. We did a lot of walking.

“Great Location”

The rooms were clean. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. My only complaint would be that the rooms were kinda small and the bathroom was very tiny. Other than that I had no complaints. Excellent location right in downtown.
