“Disappointed”

I wasn't aware that there would be no coffee pots in the rooms. The rooms are very small and was not what I expected from other Microtels that I have stayed in. However, it was clean. The front desk people were not friendly. There was rarely coffee in the machine in the lobby and breakfast was always a disappointment, as there was never enough food available. Many people milled about the kitchen area waiting for replenishments. I am sure the staff knew how many people were staying there. Overall, it wasn't terrible, but it was not wonderful.

“Very affordable, but not very flattering...”

Aesthetic failings such as cracked plaster, an old television, and refrigerator/microwave combo long overdue to be replaced (in the Deluxe Suite, no less) made this less enjoyable than had been hoped. Also the continental breakfast wasn't impressive at all. However, affordable as dirt. I recommend the Comfort Suites down the road. Lovely hotel, good complimentary meals, and the premier rooms have jacuzzi tubs in the bathroom.

“"All of our air conditioners do this" Microtel told me.”

I stayed at University Microtel the last two Saturday nights. The first Saturday everything was fine, except the AC. It woke me up all night long coming on and going off. The second Saturday the AC in a different room did the same thing, but they had also put me in a smoking room. I had been very specific about the non smoking room needed. I would have gone elsewhere, but I was in the middle of a very intense course, and I did not have time to call around and discuss air conditioners!

“Schmutzy”

Location near the University was the only good point of this hotel. It was messy and dirty looking inside. We stayed 3 nights and they "forgot" to clean our room one day! The toilet started leaking the second day. The breakfast was meager, and again, not clean looking. (We decided to go out for breakfast.) Don't stay there!

“Outside appearance doesn't match inside”

From the outside, this hotel looked respectable but once inside it was less than stellar. The front desk help was friendly and helpful, but that didn't out-weigh the cleanliness of the interior of the hotel. As we exited the elevator on the 2nd floor, the first thing you notice are the stained carpets in the hallway. The stains didn't stop there. Entering the room we noticed several stains on the carpet as well as the window seat cushion was disgusting. While entering the bathroom, I noticed a hole punched into the front and rear of the bathroom door. We wouldhave changed hotels, but it was pretty late when we arrived and didn't feel like looking for another one. I guess you get what you pay for.

“Poor Management”

Staff allowed a drunken party to go on in the parking lot and in hallway. Guest intoxicated and trying to get in the wrong rooms, finally stopped at 0430 am.

“Would never stay here again!!”

Hotel smelled horrible from the second you entered through the main entrance. The rooms were outdated and filthy and deffinately not what I expected from a Microtel. We had a room on the first floor right next to the laundry room so heard that everytime we were in the room. Guess thats what you get for "Best Value" room?! Would never stay here again... Thought price was right so thats why we booked it. Never Again!!

“Stay at the Hilton under super secret deals”

Don't waste your money on this hotel. We booked two rooms, both non-smoking, but when we got there they only had one room that was. My room had three spiders in the bed, two centipeds crawling on the walls, dust on everything, and the beds were lumpy. Not comfortable at all for advertising the most comfortable beds. The smell of smoke throughout the night was unbearable. The inside of the hotel was run down and stained. Totally fooled by looking at the outside! We only stayed one night. I booked another hotel in the middle of the night. We were to stay 4 nights. My brother decided to tough it out. He asked for a room change(he ended up with the smoking room). When they went back to move their stuff, some of their things had been stolen. What does that say about the place? I will not ever recommend this hotel to anyone.
