Nice hotel

My only recommendations would be to bring your own pillows. The ones that were supplied were more like throwing pillows.

Nice room, good value.

Posted Sep 23, 2014
Pros: Indoor pool, good for year round swimming
Cons: The automatic nightlight in the bath room worked backward. (It came on when the room was light and went out when the room was dark)
Excellence Breakfast. Friendly staff. Small but well equipped workout room.

Close to plenty of restaurants and shopping.

Posted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: It was close to where we needed to be for the weekend.
Location: Its location is pretty good. Very close to a mall and plenty of restaurants. The Billy Graham Library is not too far.
The hotel staff was friendly and accomodating. The breakfast that was included was good and plentiful. However, the space was small and overcrowded both mornings. We had reserved a suite with 2 double beds and after checkin when we got to the rooms, it was not a suite and had a king size bed so we had to go to the trouble of going back down and redoing everything to get the room we had reserved. Also, we got a bill for $2.00 which we questioned and was told it was for use of the safe-which we had not used. It seems they add this on each day and you have to tell them to take it off.

Best front desk person in Charlotte

Posted Sep 8, 2014
Pros: The front desk person, Lisa, and the convenience of the motel.
Cons: The cleaning staff needs more training on what it means to be in the service industry. They were rather rude.
Location: The location is accessible to 485 in either direction and is directly across from a decent mall. Just down the street is my favorite diner, the DiveInn
From Lisa's greeting at the front desk to her thoughtful goodbye when I left two days later, I was very well taken care of by the front desk and several other staff members.

Great Inexpensive South Charlotte hotel

Posted Aug 23, 2014
Pros: All staff were very friendly. Services were good - they called me when I got a package after checking out, for instance. There is a gym and pool.
Location: Carowinds is nearby. Getting into uptown Charlotte is a little slow because of traffic, but I did it on South Blvd and it wasn't so bad.
I simply picked this hotel on price. When I got there I found it clean, very pleasant staff, a big room with fridge and microwave, and conveniently located near restaurants and stores. There is a free cooked breakfast. At other times you can walk to the IHOP next door - or other restaurants close by car.

OK hotel

Posted Aug 17, 2014
Pros: Staff, breakfast buffet
Cons: Bed comfort, separate smoking rooms from non-smoking rooms by placing all smoking rooms on the top floor only, heated pool.
Location: Loved being close to the mall and new outlet mall
Staff was very accommodating and pleasant during our stay. If we had questions about local attractions, they were more than willing to help us. There were smoking and non-smoking rooms in this hotel and even on the same floor together. We stayed in a non-smoking room but the smoke scent filled the hallway we were on. It was slightly offensive to us who are non-smokers. The walls were somewhat thin as we could hear the child in the next room screaming during the night. The bed was not the most comfortable but ok. It was hard to adjust/regulate the air so we were either very cold or warm. The shower was great with good water presssure. The pool was too cold for my grandson to swim in. He was shivering after only being in there for ten minutes. We were under the impression that the pool was heated but it was clear that it was not. The breakfast buffet was good with a great selection.
