Perfectly Close to CarowindsPosted Nov 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
The staff was very friendly and willing to help us with any of our problems. I was thankful we brought our own bedding items (sheets, blankets, pillows) because you never know who was on them! Our toilet did not have a cover on the back, the curtains were broken and the recliner was broken. There were nasty stains on the chairs so we stayed away from those. The fridge and phone did not work. We did save quite a bit of money staying here over the other hotels near Carowinds and with the money we saved, we were able to get Fast Lane Plus at Carowinds and Scarowinds. If you are visiting Carowinds, this is an excellent place to stay as long as you don't have huge expectations and you are willing to accept whatever you walk into. The train tracks next to the hotel never bothered us even though our window looked out right over the tracks. I think only one came through during the day, but I sleep too heavily to know if one came through at night. I am 100% satisfied with our stay and I gave it a 4 star because of the fact that we were able to save enough money at our hotel to get the Fast Lane Plus and feel like royalty at Carowinds. This is the way to go for Coaster Junkies like us!

Nice, but breakfast not up to Super 8 StandardPosted Oct 24, 2013 on Hotels.com
The only big disappointment was the Super 8 Breakfast. Not up to what other Super 8's are like. No cinnamon rolls

Super 8 Charlotte Amusement ParkPosted Oct 14, 2013
Pros: Close to the Interstate, that was all.
Cons: Almost everything.
Location: Good location.
On entering the hotel, I came in at 2:35PM and I was told check in wasn't until 3. I was told this in a very rude manor. I was told that I could go and get something to eat and then come back. I had already eaten, so was surprised by this girls way of making out my plans. I dropped my wife off for some shopping and came back to check in. We were headed to the Nascar race and I didn't want to check in late at night when it was over. I checked in and now a man was there to help me. He was very sufficient and did his job well. I was glad the girl wasn't present. On entering the room, it was old, had a smoke/musty smell. The toilet was broken. I opened up the toilet and the float was broken off, easily understandable that it was not a new problem. I turned on the water to the toilet and just let it run. It worked after that, but just ran water all the time. We went to the race came back and slept. While sleeping the wife and I noticed how bad the pillows smelt like smoke. I know this is just a motel 8, but one of the worst Motel 8's that I have stayed. I would check the other hotels nearby first, before staying here.

it was awfulPosted Oct 7, 2013 on Hotels.com
The room stunk. There was no coffee pot. The refrigerator was unplugged and had no freezer in it. There really was no breakfast. The bed was hard. Will never stay there again. Be warned go somewhere else.

Clean, well kept hotel. House keeping was excellent. Only down side- not a great view. But we were out all day at amusement park so we didn't see it much

Location: Carowinds just a few minutes away
Stayed overnight after a full day at Carowinds amusement park. Just wanted a place to sleep before activities in Charlotte the next day.

Good inexpensive and quiet hotel.Posted Jul 30, 2013
Pros: It was pretty close to some retail stores and restaurants.
Location: Amusement park right across the street.
I had a good three night stay at the hotel. I would stay here again on my next trip.

Not what we were expecting.Posted Jul 8, 2013 on Hotels.com
First when I reserved our room, I didn't realize I clicked the smoking button, when we checked in the clerk refused to give us a non smoking room, even after I informed him that my wife was severe asthmatic, then we had to purchase air fresher, and Lysol so my wife could tolerate the smell smoking rooms leave, the location was very poor as well, I thought it was next to CARWINDS amusement park not 4 miles from it instead its next to a loading station for trains filling up cars with coal, which is very noisy. The only good thug I can say bout the $200.00 I spent was the coffee and Danishes they had for breakfast. This was our 1st vacation being married, and alone with no kids there all in high school or adults now, it rained all 5 days we were there, and I'm bout to retire from the US Army, so we will be doing a lot of traveling in the near future, considering we're big NASCAR fans!!!!
