Many of Copenhagen’s most interesting sights are located close to Charlottenlund, making it a convenient place to base yourself. Two destinations that should be at the top of every visitor’s itinerary is the fascinating Charlottenlund Palace and the iconic Charlottenlund Forest. If time permits, be sure to also visit Ordrupgaard and Bernstorff Palace.
Of course, people come from near and far to experience the Tivoli Gardens, one of the most iconic attractions in the country. It is only less than 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) from the city center.
You’ll find many unique museums, exhibits and venues in and around Charlottenlund. Spend a quiet afternoon admiring the exhibits at Oregaard Museum in Hellerup.
There are a number of picturesque outdoor attractions here as well so don’t miss the chance to get outdoors. Reconnect with nature at one of the area’s beaches, for example Bellevue Beach. Nature lovers love to hang out in places like Deer Park. There is a charming atmosphere here and well-tended garden beds and trees.
At the end of a busy day discovering the sights, sounds and smells of Charlottenlund, put up your feet and relax at one of the area’s bed-and-breakfasts, hotels or short-stay apartments. The Gentofte Hotel, the Hellerup Parkhotel and the Skovshoved Hotel are just some of the best places to find a warm welcome and a good night’s rest.
