Poor value hotel near UVA.

Booked stay for college tour and basketball camp. Comfortable bed and pillows. However, bathroom fixtures in poor condition. Two maintenance calls in as many days due to toilet not working properly. Bathroom floor overdue for thorough deep cleaning.

A place to sleep

I didn't realize that smoking rooms still exist. I also didn't see a distinction on Hotels.com that I had booked a smoking room. The smell was disgusting. The fan in bathroom didn't work. The surroundings appeared old and warn. It was tolerable for a nights sleep. I would not stay here for a real vacation. The staff was nice, but not overly friendly or welcoming.

Awful from start to finish

Location: Great city to visit
At check in we were told that our non smoking room I purchases was actually a smoking room and that it was expedias fault. The room smelled like an ashtray. I had a hard time believing that the hotel was full since we hardly saw guests in the elevators and breakfast room. The water in in evenings was luke warm instead of hot. The floor was gross. The continental breakfast was pathetic. All the bread products were stale. They had biscuits had no gravy and you could see that there was a crockpot for that purpose. The first morning there was eggs but no sausage. The next day sausage and no eggs. No coffee the second morning. Very lazy staff. Then I asked if they had shavers since I forgot mine. The first day they said that some should come on the truck that day. The next morning I asked and the employee acted like she was looking but it was clear they never have any forgotten items, they just have a policy of lying to guests to shut them up. I plan to book with the Hampton next time.

Close to restaurants, major roads, shopping. Friendly and efficient staff. Decent rooms - not The Ritz, but clean, comfortable, great a/c, fridge, tv, etc.

The staff at this hotel are very nice. This is my third time at this hotel and I will return to visit my UVA student. This hotel is in a good location and is a good value for the price.

We only stayed over one night. However, the room was nice and very clean. The hallways looked a little shabby but we didn't hang out in the hallway so it was okay. The lobby was clean, spacious and well appointed. The breakfast was hot and there were many choices. It was very close to UVA where we were visiting.

The staff was great, and the lady who runs the breakfast was the nicest, most pleasant person I met my whole time down in Virginia! My only complaint would be the beds were not very comfortable, not the worst I've ever experienced, but definitely not great.

Well worn hotel but ok

Pros: It was clean and breakfast convenient.
Cons: Needs to be updated.
Location: Close to UVa.
Hotel facilities are clearly well worn. It could use some updating. Hotel staff weren't particularly friendly or helpful... just did their jobs and got you on your way. Breakfasts were more then adequate.
